its fruitless to compare anyone to Nas who hasnt dropped at least 6 albums and at least dropped 2 classics.

Dont compare MJ to Lebron yet, how many rings you got?

It's not even about that. My perspective was that it is a GKMC thread, so let's keep it at that. nikkas in here trying to do some reverse psychology ass shyt and take the shine away by juxtaposing one who is paying his dues to one who has paid his dues. cherish the present.

Kendrick Lamar doing these numbers really reignites my faith in consumers supporting quality Hip Hop. This is an INCREDIBLE feat for a Hip Hop debut album with no huge singles or sellout gimmicks, it's just an excellent piece of work top to bottom. THIS is an album I'd use as a perfect example of Hip Hop as an artform. A poetic means of expression, biography, lyrical dexterity and musical genius. I fukking LOVE seeing Kendrick win, I love seeing his team win, I love listening to this album over and over and discovering something uniquely dope on every track.

Nas, K.Dot, and Lupe Fiasco all released masterpieces of the genre this year and I couldn't be happier. Killer Mike, Blu, Masta Ace, Blu, Danny!, AB Soul, and Big KRIT also released stellar material which provided diversity of sound and concept. This has been a truly wonderful year for rap music, I feel blessed to be a fan right now.

Kendrick Lamar, TDE, and Black Hippy :win:

I always felt you were one of the best posters on this site. You did it again my nikka. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Joe Budden and Saigon dropping heat next month too :wow:

Man, I just had a epiphany that almost made a nikka wanna cry tears of joy brehs.

Like wtf? Did Kendrick Lamar really just drop this amazing album? Did Blu really just decide to stop fukking around and put out a stellar, PROPERLY MIXED project? Did Nas, Lupe and Ab-Soul do their fukking thing too in spades? Did Joey Bada$$ blow people away with his skills at the fukking age of 17 with that mixtape? And let's not even mention Killer Mike, Skyzoo, Schoolboy Q, etc, etc, etc.

ALL THIS year? shyt is amazing man. Hate to sound like Obama, but shyt is changing. I can feel it. If we look back in 5 to 10 years and see that hip hop is back to the way shyt should be, I think we'll be able to look at 2012 as the turning point. If Joe Buden, Saigon and Jay Electronica drop this year and deliver I will freak.

We legitimately got MULTIPLE 4 to 5 mic albums. shyt is back to the essence of this beautiful art form we love so much brehs.

:salute: to Kendrick Lamar and the TDE camp for this shyt.

Wonder how Jezzy feels about K.Dot using him as a example of how his music had a bad influence on the youth?

I thought this was interesting myself. I grew up on rappers like Jay, X, Mobb Deep, Nas and Em. Always thought Jeezy was garbage.
