in my humble. After a week with DAMN feel I can over a few words.
To me the most important thing about this album like all of Kendricks albums. Its a rare insight into a modern day A list artist.
Section 80 felt like he was giving you his imediate surroundings, Good Kid he then takes his immeadiate surroundings in to the bigger city. TPAB he then takes his imediate surroundings and his city in to and a round the world. He then comes back home and finds out. Life is still Section 80.
That would make you say DAMN what the fukk was all that for. This explained why this album seems all over the place.
The Christ/Saviour complex Kenny is expessing reminds me of Nas, maybe even a similar time in their respective careers. Both artists who want to uplift the culture and community only to be shot at by the same culture they want to save.
Now Nas is grown he's moved past that and his music is better for it. K.Dot is still making great music whilst rocking a Saviour Complex and still getting commercial and critical recognition.
