You know what I love about your kind? :mjpls:

Somehow, someway, in some weird alternate universe you live in.

A funk and jazz inspired political concept album in TPAB, a concept album about growing up as a black youth in Compton, and a Hip Hop album with aggressive rap that's damn near hosted by Kid Capri that has rhymes about black people being Israelites is somehow for White media

But Drake's shallow pop rap is somehow, someway for the hood and blacks :dead: I guess all the dudes on KTT are definitely, undoubtedly nikkas too huh :heh:

My Krazy Life is definitely better than Take Care. Not even up for debate. But once again, you think that Take Care is better than American Gangster so you're hard to really converse with when it comes to music :dead:

all this shyt about people resonating with something in real time and no mention of how the "we gone be alright" chant was used during the trump protests just a few months ago :dead: or that don't count? It Don't get anymore "real time" than that :deadrose:

Just say you like pop-rap and keep it pushin bro. It's cool.
Where did I say that though? fukk is you talking about nikka? :dahell:

My Krazy Life isn't better than Take Care :mjlol: you categorize albums based off reviews from publications. Not up for debate? What? You think YG's album is head and shoulders better than Take Care? :mjlol: I just showed you one was reviewed 34 times while the other 16 yet you insist on comparing MetaCritic scores. How does that make sense? Is More Life better than My Krazy Life then? Is More Life the best Drake album then? My Krazy Life does not have a SINGLE classic song how the fukk is it better than Take Care, which you admitted has classic songs. In what weird alternate universe do you live in where MKL hit the culture harder than TC?

You just admitted that you and our generation had moments to Take Care and it embodied a time period what music being classic is truly about but don't wanna admit it because you wanna seem like a purist for the 35 year olds on this site. Stop it nikka. Deep down you know what it is.

Other than Alright and the Trump protests people didn't fukk with Pimp like that, Kendrick himself was disappointed by his sales in his own hometown and tweeted about it. i struggled to reach the top 40 despite all the money behind that single. The album did not resonate like that outside of Alright being played at the Trump protests. That shyt was a major talking point on this very site and social media how despite the reviews and content, Pimp failed to connect with the people. But aight I'm just making shyt up.

Your logic makes no sense "I had moments with Take Care, it embodied a moment in time for our generation, it's a good album bu bu nah its not a classic the cacs at Rolling Stone only gave it 4 stars out of 5 not perfect reviews like King Kendrick" :camby:

You know what's funny? Judging something by the reaction of critics is no worse than judging something by how many people playing it or how popular it is :dead:

That's y'all favorite thing. I heard Take Care because it was anticipated and everybody was playing it. That doesn't change the actual music tho, genius.

You got music legends from Stevie Wonder to Prince raving about TPAB. But I guess because 19 year old white kids didn't go crazy over it then it's not a classic.

I did have great moments and memories to it. But I was also a teenager that hadn't fully developed his music taste. I was like 16 when I thought that album was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

You should be asking yourself why now, (I assume 22-24) you still have the same expections and ear for music you did then. How you can't see that that album is good, but not AMAAZING is beyond me.

We all had moments to take care, we all fukked bytches to take care, we all got High to Take Care because it was a moment. But it still ain't even better than s80 as a project. Which got less play because Kendrick was less known, but it's still a better project.

Stevie Wonder was on Take Care. He played the harmonica on Doing It Wrong :heh:

Stevie Wonder and Prince appreciated the musicality of Pimp, it's a throwback for them, so did I, I liked the album, my nikkas though they wasn't trying to hear that. That album was for the woke crowd and hardcore music heads and Kendrick stans. It was not digestible for many hip-hop fans. :manny:

It is what it is. It's not a classic because it did not resonate. Kendrick saw this and complained about his local sales and for his next effort he made a more accessible project working with Southern producers (Mike Will) for his singles, used the go-to flow of the moment (Lil Uzi flow on Humble), and used a dancehall style chant from Rick James (DNA).

I didn't say Take Care was amazing, it doesn't have to be this amazing pinnacle of music it was a great album with great songs that defined its time period and provided moments for a generation that right there makes it a classic. It has songs that create that nostalgia, songs that people still appreciate to this day, it continues to burn slow and sell. I personally would remove 2-3 tracks and replace them with Club Paradise, Free Spirit, Dreams Money Can Buy. But, 2-3 tracks on a 20 track album is a great batting average.

I see its influence in alternative R&B and hip-hop, I do see how it resonated with the people, the accolades it won, I do see how many quality songs it has, how it was anticipated, how massive the tour was, how many remixes it inspired, the pop culture movements it started, how well put together it was with its production, sample choices, engineering, feature choices, lyrics/themes, packaging, how some of Drake's peers talked about it like A$AP. It's not fukking Illmatic or some shyt but its still a classic album that will be remembered by those who came of age in this era. That's what makes an album a classic.

I don't understand what exactly is so unreasonable about the statement. Take Care BEEN in the classic discussion for awhile now, some people think so, some people don't, other needs more time. It is what it is.

Lol, Take Care being a classic is not blasphemous at all only Kendrick album that resonated near that level is good kid maad city. Kendrick got introduced to the mainstream through Take Care. Stop being a sheep nikka.

Only :flabbynsick: and corny elitist hate on Take Care. It is a memorable, seminal release for its era that is still selling.
Take Care is a great album, but it ain't no classic :mjlol: ...knock it off.

That 808blues or whatever review gives the album a 7.8/10 by it's score average but it gets a 9.5 score at the end. How does that work?
