Seems like an age thing

Most over 30 think the album is blah under 30 act like it's a life altering music changing album

Exactly...in comparison to the average hip hop album now? It's a godsend..

But having the context of being a 20+ year hip hop head, I'd put any classic 90s album over this shyt...Tribe's latest album shyts on this

Love Kendrick Lamar but not feeling this album

Not saying its a bad album, but I just wasn't into the beats, the beats was kind of boring to me.

I wish he would go back to rapping on the same type of beats he did on his first album.

The only joint that I like is DNA and Humble is cool too

Never realized how much I'm in the minority of people who liked TPAB. I watched Akademiks and Budden talking about TPAB they both agreed it had no replay value past the release month.

I'm watching it all like :dwillhuh:

I listened to TPAB as much as any other Kendrick piece.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with it as I've always liked jazz, funk, conscious type music. That album was for cultural purposes and necessary. Breh TPAB was fukkin immaculate!

I even went to Kuntas Groove Sessions.

This album is more personal IMO. This is just where Kendrick is in life today.

Whereas TPAB was Kendrick's social commentary/broadcast, something to empower uplift people. BUT I ain't putting it over TPAB just yet or ever. It's too bad everything needs to be compared but its all opinion/preference.

how was it?

so mad i missed it -- i only want to see artists when they are in smaller, intimate settings TBH.

King Kunta reached back to the Past and had The Legendary DJ and Mixtape DJ Kid Capri to bless his album :damn:

This is up there when Finale dropped his bombshell A Pipe Dream and A Promise and he put The Mighty Cold Crush Brothers Prince Whippa Whip on the interludes

I went to the one in Santa Ana, CA

It was dope, the band was killing it. Can't remember how soon after TPAB the show was but the ENTIRE crowd was chanting "We Gon Be Alright!" over and over before the show, and once the show started, and in between songs. Literally the chant was going all night, then finally towards the end of the set...he broke it in.
ALL MY LIFE I HADS TO FIGHT, NICCA!
:wow: Crowd lost it.

That bytch's voice at the end of blood makes my own blood boil every time. The angry energy immediately after on DNA matches perfectly how mad her BS opinion and dismissive voice makes me every time I hear her say "ugh please I don't like it"

YOOOOOOOOO, I thought it was just me. I get fukking furious no matter how many times I listen to it.
