This shyt is a classic. nikkas not even happy with alchemist, kid Capri, 9th wonder etc on mainstream projects. He rapping his ass off too. Y'all bugging more times than not on this bytch now

"Let me put the heaaaaad in.. I don't want more than that, girl I respect the cat." nikka my uncle's was fucced up. Spent Easter laughing bout how much p*ssy that line got um bacc in the day. I like everything but that laughing to the bank like ah ha shyt. But it fits the concept of the album.

The mixing by Ali is Kendricks cheat code. He's the new young guru. Mix that with the flows, cadence's, concepts... Y'all don't like shyt

Probably my favorite work of his.

Didn't really like the last ones as much as some other people. And this one is no Classic like y'all running around saying :comeon:

But it's good music. I just wish he would stop with all the extra voices/skits/dumb shyt in the songs. My favorite two songs on the album have almost 2 minutes of bullshyt at the beginning before you get to the good stuff:smh:

Unfortunately Cole doesn't have the kind of production or creative vision to contend with Kendrick.

But from a traditional standpoint I can see why you'd like 4 Your Eyez Only. But even Cole had too much singing and shyt going on on that album.

I dont care about all that
J Coles was just a better album to me

Last week, LeBron James played snippets of Kendrick Lamar‘s new album DAMN. before anybody else heard it. Now, Kendrick and the NBA align once more, as his new single “Humble” becomes the theme song for the 2017 playoffs. Peep the ad featuring the track below.

Produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and Pluss, the song features stabbing piano keys that seem ripe for pregame pump-up music. The chorus (“Sit down, be humble”) is also the kind of thing players would love to tell opponents on the other team, so the song choice makes perfect sense.

If you haven’t heard Kendrick’s new album yet, listen to DAMN. right here. Aside from K. Dot’s dense rapping, it sounds almost nothing like To Pimp a Butterfly, often harkening back to sounds more prevalent on Section.80 (think of the voices he morphs into on the new album) or good kid, m.A.A.D. city (“Element” might be his new “bytch, Don’t Kill My Vibe”). You can read the full production credits for the album here as well.

Rumors swirled on the internet over the weekend that K. Dot had another new album dropping on Easter Sunday, but the whispers were only indicative of a market that too often moves on from material that just dropped. A suggestion for anyone looking for another new album from the Compton MC today: sit down and enjoy the LP he just gave us.

FEAR. is that good that I want the album to end there, like that's a wrap right there. Done. Over. Can't be beaten.

but then :damn:

I agree, it's one of those tracks I would play if someone never heard Kendrick before and wanted to hear why people people think he's a good rapper or what makes him unique

Tracks like Fear are what separates Kendrick from the rest of the current rappers out now.

Like I said in one of the cole threads yesterday, I listened to that album again for the first time in ages and it really isn't that bad, it's just the lows are some of the worst cole tracks iv ever heard, replace them with the few songs that didn't make it and I think a lot of people would look at the album differently.

Man I dunno but I do know they prob got the best in house producers in rap right now. Not to mention the best engineer (Ali). It's crazy.

Sounwave comes to mind first since he has so many standout tracks, including John Muir from Q's album last year. But Tae Beast crazy too. Ab Soul's album has some of the new producers TDE has and they gave him some fire.

I love how these guys CRAFT albums. It's not about singles with them. There have been a couple misses (These Days, Sun's Tirade) to me but overall TDE usually delivers at least a solid project.
I agree man.

I went through Wikipedia and checked some tracks, and Sounwave seems to be the one behind most of the joints that I've liked the most overall.

And yeah Ali is a beast. I am nerdy about beats, but I try not to get too much into engineering level nerdiness, but I did notice in the car that the album sounded better than any of his others IMO, and then I saw that Young Guru tweet about how Ali's work on this was worth other engineers studying.

Ali made 9th Wonder sound better than maybe ever before.
