Reminds me of Sohh in the spring/summer 2004 when the forum was overly anticipating "Streets Diciple"

Nas dropped the illmatic 10 year anniversary album with some bonus tracks

A few freestyles

Jumped on the why remix with Jada

First single with his dad dropped

And nikkas wanted that Streets Diciple jawn bad

When it dropped it was universal praise for the album.... on Sohh... I just didn't hear it lol.. sounded like an average Nas album given the anticipation and hype

Sure as the sun will rise the general tone changed on the forum regarding the project as more time went on...

Damn is solid.. after two listens it doesn't hit me like GKMC or Section 80..

Barely want to replay it and dropped yesterday

Y'all nikkas say the silliest shyt.

Stop trying to get contrarian daps and listen to the album until you get it.

You're obviously missing something.

No I'm not missing anything. That's my opinion breh.

2 spins in 24 hours is enough. If I get the urge to revisit it I will.

GKMC: 8/10
TPAB: 7/10
Damn: 6/10

Your man gotta get it together because the albums are getting worse each time out. Hype this album all you want but half of it ain't good. I'm talking if another rapper made them joints, you wouldn't fukk with em. shyt is all over the place. There's no need for Loyalty and God to share the same album space as Fear and Duckworth. Element wants to be a Drake diss when it grows up but it doesnt have the heart to say a name (isnt that what you said on Heart pt. 4?) so it looks like a poor imitation, literally and figuratively. Like I said before, cut this down to an EP, and you got a short but dope project. As it stands right now though...its a mess. Better albums have been released this year. HE'S made better albums. You'll see what I'm saying once the honeymoon's over and you sober up.

I hope it's another album on the way cause I'm not feeling this. The whole low level frequency hes vibing off feels like he dumbed it down. That back masking is annoying as hell. Im only feeling a few tracks. A complete step down fron his last efforts. Album feels like a mixtapes honestly.
The only problem I have with it and a reason I hope there's another side to this is that I feel emotionally drained after listening to it.

Delivery was unfukkwitable, and the production was flawless....now I'm just hoping KDot comes thru with God on some uplifting shyt.

Listened to this @ work yesterday and on first listen the first half of the album didn't grab me second half did. Second listen was better and it grew on me. TPAB set the bar so high for me it's hard to top (pun intended). But even TPAB took me a few listens to digest it, track by track and as a whole body of work, think I'll sit with this for a while get a real feel for it (crazy as it sounds I hated NY State of Mind first time I heard it as a kid :yeshrug:, but then it grew to one of my favs as my ability to listen matured)

On another note

After a long ass time of reading every page from page 60 onward (225 pages), the theories, the critique, the praise, the hate, the diccriding, the comparisons to Kodak, Gates, Thug, Drake, Lupe, where was the Big Sean diss?, I like his singing, I hate X, 'Love' is the greatest song ever, he's too verbose, he's off beat, he's the greatest ever to the plethora of internet illiterate with all the variations of Pass the Mustard/Piss in My Ass (you niccas nerdy enough to be on a rap forum don't know how to illegally download in 2017 shouldn't be allowed on here). The bytching, name calling, will there be an album on Sunday etc

I've come to the conclusion.......

They should of never gave you niccas money

I like this album, like a lot. Off first listen this might be my 2nd favorite Kendrick album. Just off pure rapping his delivery and the way he switches flows is nice. Subject matter is exactly like that Crank Lucas video tho :deadmanny:
