Those ratings look accurate

Give Damn a 6.5
GKMC 8.5
Kendrick's rapping ability is often overblown, his skill is overrated... but the dude knows how to make an album/project. I feel like anybody who gives this album lower than an 8 is reaching. The album literally sounds like everything he's done before with him doing some new things sprinkled in.

He's got more bars/quotes on this album than all his other projects.

Half the album is average half the album is good. Reminds me of a students paper I graded last semester who wondered why I gave him a 75%

That ratio alone has whomever sitting right below the "good" threshold

6.5 is average.. maybe you could argue a 7/10 (I wouldn't be mad at that) but it's not on the same level as Section80 or GKMC

(My opinion)

Nah, y'all gotta chill with trying to shyt on something just because your bird brains can't keep up.

Or you're an insecure malcontent and you're upset because we don't agree with your perspective

And I know for a fact you aren't because I've seen quality posts from you in the past..

There is a reason why people are yearning for another album or something extra after barely digesting this...

And it's not because "they don't understand"

Let's revisit this thread in 1 month and compare analysis after the "new project" euphoria dies down

Nah pseudo-intellectual hypebeasts such as yourself often think they're the smartest in the room because y'all are the most vocal

But that's just your hubris /shrug

Not only that, one criterion of being a GOAT is the ability to communicate your points clearly and concisely to a large group of people, which is why people revere BIG/Pac/Nas/JayZ

One criterion of being a hipster messiah is producing a ton of cryptic content that can be interpreted 500 different ways so that said hipster messiah never has to stand on anything they say

I can understand why most people wouldn't like this album, a few songs don't sound like "traditional" Kendrick songs (Loyalty, Love, God) so they kinda get lost in the shuffle when you have songs like Fear, Duckworth, and Feel which sound like real hip hop records

I feel like if he had dropped this album before TPAB it would be appreciated more. TPAB is a critically acclaimed album which makes DAMN sound like a "regular" album.

I do feel like he needed to drop this album though, it's kinda like he brought himself down off his high horse just to show people(more so his fans) that he's still progressing as an artist.

I'll probably be playing this album more than I did his other albums though

GKMC: 8/10
TPAB: 7/10
Damn: 6/10

Your man gotta get it together because the albums are getting worse each time out. Hype this album all you want but half of it ain't good. I'm talking if another rapper made them joints, you wouldn't fukk with em. shyt is all over the place. There's no need for Loyalty and God to share the same album space as Fear and Duckworth. Element wants to be a Drake diss when it grows up but it doesnt have the heart to say a name (isnt that what you said on Heart pt. 4?) so it looks like a poor imitation, literally and figuratively. Like I said before, cut this down to an EP, and you got a short but dope project. As it stands right now though...its a mess. Better albums have been released this year. HE'S made better albums. You'll see what I'm saying once the honeymoon's over and you sober up.
You got a nikka feeling conflicted over here breh :patrice:
