I actually like Drake, but I don't take him seriously, which is what @4d 6f 6e 65 79 does which is so confusing knowing what we know about him. Dude is a pop artist that makes some good busy work music, shyt you listen to while you're doing something else, but let him tell it and Drake is Prince or some shyt.


And Drake is the reason why a dude like Ed Sheeran felt comfortable making a dancehall song, which is more popular than Drake's own.

The biggest problems I have with Kendrick stans is they don't let the music breathe, they just have to push this narrative of his albums being instant classics and if it isn't to you, it's because you don't get it

He talks about the streets from a first person perspective with wisdom, spirituality, regret and introspection. Like you said more depth.

Elitist Kendrick stans will never give son a chance just off the way he looks and media antics. He has the best album this year.

Yeah Drake is cool. It's easy listening "urban" music..

He picks universal topics that everyone from the middle school suburban white cheerleader, to the Ivy league law student, to the South side Chicago dopeboy can relate to. "Haters, loyalty, friends, jealousy and the pitfalls of success"...

Then wraps them in an aesthetically and sonically appealing package. And he stays consistent.. He never improves or regresses. He's been running a steady pace for the past 8 years. He never takes any risk with his sound or aesthetic. He's Coca-Cola..

He's arguably the most consistent pop artist since Michael Jackson (not as talented of course). But him and Kendrick perform a completely different genre of music.
