I think DAMN sounds like the highest quality version of a Schoolboy Q album. Straight forward jams, street anthems, girl songs, and that added Kendrick depth & creativity on some tracks like Fear and Duckworth.
I can't call it yet, and this is one of those albums that could be classic, great, or just very good, depending on how time treats it. It's not an instant classic like the last two, but there's nothing wrong with that. I'm just glad he showed can make a quality album that isn't conceptual and tracks that can stand on their own completely. And by doing that, Kendrick has finally cemented his spot at the top of the rap game. He's making undeniable music. It may end up being my favorite Kendrick album for that reason.
Definitely front runner for Album Of The Year right now.
