in 2010, which is when OD came out, people were focused on Wiz Khalifa for Kush and OJ and J Cole for Friday Night Lights, among other rappers.

then a whole label discovered a new rapper, who has no fan base, no projects out, not active in the underground scene, but somehow the next big thing in hip hop. by the label pushing his singles and directing his videos while he wasnt "signed" = asap rocky

same thing happened to kendrick about delaying the announcement of his label situation, inorder to generate more hype but to a way lesser extent cause he already had a following and music out. now tell me who is more of a plant? which is what everyone is arguing about.

People get mad and confused towards Kendrick attackers as if kendrick (and his team) didnt motivate these attacks.
when you're a fan of music and you see all these media outlets and forum trolls trying to force you to believe shyt that you know isnt true,you're going to call it out.
If you try to tell me something is classic and want to reference all these reviews public figure comments etc,but the community isnt echoing the same affection towards the work,i'm going to voice that. They tried to play the public and slowly but surely they're being caught in the act.

i understand what youre saying but kendrick already had a pretty good fan base before the dr dre cosign, i for one was a kendrick fan before that. OD was had a lot of buzz on the blogs but his fanbase really started to form around the kendrick lamar ep. he was doing shows around that time. a$ap literally had nothing, and basically started off in the mainstream with little to no past material, no one knew who he was. that to me is a bigger industry plant. and rocky did have one major cosign, which was drake. drake helped both kendrick's and asap's career.

As someone who was listening to Kendrick Lamar before 80% of current fans.. It seems like he hit a writers block with this last album and decided to go with a pro black "militant" agenda to shield himself from criticism. He never was that type of rapper, now all of a sudden he's affrikka bambaataa?
