He's packing in shows around the world so I'm assuming his flow is world famous but I'm not there to know what song people say omg the flow on that song there wowsers. That's not how it works.

In your opinion Nelly has a better flow then kendrick because he sold more records

You're a casual fan. You aren't hip hop
lmao,i said nothing even remotely like this.

I jumped in thinking thread starter was gonna troll his life away. He's hating hard on Kendrick for some reason, but he definitely has a point.

Kendrick's ability to pick up ideas/scenarios/themes/puns are satellite-like. He seriously jumps all over the place, it's probably why I'm a K.Dot fan. But don't get it twisted, dude can rap his fukking ass off.
But what thread starter says still remains partially true. King Kendrick is super honest, direct, straight forward with his lyrics. All in your face. Through his writing and topics you can tell he prides in himself, BIG time.
There's no doubt in my mind he's one of the best, (period), but he isn't the most creative/imaginative. Yes, he touches on many subjects others do not, but his delivery isn't the most...what's the word...experimental??
Not sure if that works...

K.Dot has ridiculous forms of prose, backed with iron lungs and great flows (sort of declined a bit on TPAB imo), but someone like Blu can spit a Kendrick verse with less words, make it more abstract (not so obvious),
and maybe with more imagery. Kendrick can pull this off too, he's done it many times, but it's not his forte. People who have the ability to play with words this way are called poets.

It's really boils down to your preferences, brehs.

:rudy:

Quantum physics could never show you the world I was in
When I was ten, back when nine ounces had got you ten
And nine times out of ten, nikkas don't pay attention
And when there's tension in the air nines come with extensions

:wow:

this shyt is fukking mediocre. he aint saying anything interesting here. but the repetition of 'ten' got some of y'all sprung.

I don't use drugs, but you obviously do judging by the quality of your posts and this reply that you must of thought was clever.
if u think kendrick has no flow and isn't nice ur on drugs and u have the name of a dope fiend so clearly you're touched mentally.

Just beat it. u have nothing to add to the topic.

Again nothing in those lines are profound..those are just lines that sound good . Those lines relay no profound message unless ur a Lil boy that knows nothing about life yet

The burden is on you is to tell me why it is profound

Assuming you're not just throwing a tantrum like a child, I've taken you up on your offer and will explain.

First of all, 2nd Childhood is a brilliant, beautiful and cautionary song. Aside from the fact that it sounds fantastic (which is the most important part), it's just really smart. Great theme. The term "second childhood" usually denotes senility: the phase an adult, usually senior, enters into when they need to be taken care of like children. Their mental capabilities are deteriorating. Nas flips this idea to describe perfectly healthy people who are much younger but immature. They refuse to grow outta the dumb shyt.

Straight up, I've never heard anyone use the term 2nd childhood in the way Nas does. On some social anthropological shyt. It's a superb flip. I could be wrong: maybe someone did it before Nas. If you know, please prove it.

So let me analyze the different lines

Never heard 2nd childhood, right?

"So he moves with his peers, different blocks, different years
Sitting on, different benches like it's musical chairs"

This is a great 'time lapse' sorta line. You can picture a guy sitting on different project benches over several years. It shows a certain docility in the guy's mind. He aint up to shyt. He's moving but fixed to one point. That is what it means to be mentally stuck.

and the musical chairs part is a great reference because kids play musical chairs. Adults don't really do that.

A really simple clear line that says a lot. That's what you call profound.

"They call her the brain surgeon"

obviously we know what this references. I just think it's a good line. The whole verse is about how this girl doesn't really have anything going on in her life. No profession, except giving brains. So calling her the brain surgeon is a biting line.

"Selfish in her own right for life."

There's nothing profound about this line on its own, but it's a great 'closer' to the verse. It encapsulates the main problem with the girl in the entire verse. Concise and accurate.

Now tell me how those lines aren't profound

You had me going until you got to this line.

To me, this is equally un-profound as and less quotable than Big Sean's - "I'm on the top floor getting brain, higher learning"

just another head reference tbh

:comeon:

You really want to nitpick?

The "brain surgeon" is not the deepest line in the world, first of all.

Secondly, it's profound in the context of the song. There is such a thing as context. Out of context the line is cool, nothing crazy. But within the song, it's dope.

Thirdly, Nas spit that shyt in 2000 when fewer people compared to now were saying "brain" this and "brain" that. Big Sean's using 'brain' variations in 2010+. Can't compare.
