Real talk, I seen the vid of Kelis talking about this shyt... what a fukking nightmare that chick must be. She talk super-uppity and snooty...and sounds like a major bytch overall. Nas must've been in hell when he was with her. Imagine the shyt you would have to put up with... and even more so when she on her monthly!! Word to Fredo that's a SCARY SIGHT.

Yeah the demonic vibes were strong.

You didn’t list any of those people you mentioned besides biggie/diddy who had no issues with each other during their time

I’m not sure what your point is

Kelis isn’t owed anything .. she was basically a plug n play artist at the time, that the Neptunes made some money for (and yes they made more, but she signed up for it) …she didn’t do much for herself after and she’s bitter
the point is people hold grudges...you seem to think she shouldn't.

i know it's cool to hate on kelis, and she cray no doubt, but kelis is one of those artists that never made it big big yet had so much of her style jacked by other artists who had more success with it, between that and her shytty deal, i get it.

she was always super dope to me, i wish she had been bigger

I love kelis' first 3 albums but alot of the "style" that people are attributing to her was pioneered by Jody Watley

She called Chad spineless.... I see them saying fukk that crazy bytch and sample more of her shyt(which they wrote and produced)

That said I cant even tell the sample is there. am I missing the track?
Energy, the drums are sampled but it's not even the main drums, they only appear a couple times, around the :50 sec and 1:40 mark

Turns out Neptunes not even coproducers on the track like originally reported, so they had nothing to do with the track other than clearing the sample since they the only credited songwriters :yeshrug:

She only gonna help make the song bigger. :heh:
Anyways, that energy beat is :ohlawd:

Not gonna lie it’s a perfectly placed sample :whew:

Kelis made it a hot line, Pharrell made it a hot song :banderas:

Maybe she gets a cameo in the video :manny:

It turns out that the only part of "Milkshake" that was interpolated on "Energy" is the "La, la, la la la" portion during the bridge. Sure, Kelis sang it, but really?

That said, I get her frustration as she says that Pharrell did this on purpose and that it was petty and he's done it before. So this doesn't seem to be about publishing, rights, etc. It's more about hearing the song and hearing the interpolation and then being like "he did it again". Then there's the issue of reaching out. I see both sides on that one.

Also, The Neptunes drums is from another song that I can't put my finger, but it wasn't "Milkshake".

Looking at the credits, Neptunes didn't even produce the track as originally reported. They just cleared the sample
