Dc's cardio was a lot better for this fight, y'all like to conveniently forget that that fight was a lot closer than y'all would like to admit.

And yet he still lost

......and still

Very good fight....I gotta give props to DC. He didn't have to rely on his wrestling and won the fight using his clinch. But we all know Jones gonna take his title back....Gus was more of threat to him and he's outta the picture for now.

DC reign on top will be shorter than leprechauns.

the cool thing about that fight is that both guys played and excelled at their strengths....they pretty much did what everyone expected them to do. gus was running shyt at distance and cormier was eating him in the clinch. there wasn't as much wrestling as people probably expected, which turned out to be a good thing since it kept the fight on the feet...and they beat the shyt out of each other.

ultimately, dc has a special something. that 'no quit' shyt. even when he's beat up and hurt and tired...he keeps bringing it. he was like that vs. bones too but he didn't do enough to win. but he brought that same mentality to gus in the 5th and that's what won him the fight.

i'm seeing a bunch of cormier is corny and this and that (i'm not sure why to be honest) but outside of whatever you think about his personality, the guy deserves respect as a fighter.

Cormier in any other era would clearly be the best 205er

He would dominated Tito or chuck

Jones is still slightly better but both are hof's

Gus had no killer instinct. Same thing happened in that Jones fight. Running around instead of going for it. Both guys were gassed as fukk but DC was pressing forward. Clinching, throwing, just basically staying active. I think hes done as far as a contender

I think if tonight's DC had shown up back in January, he would've beat Jones. Jones did no real damage to him in that fight. DC kept coming in this one after almost getting brutally finished by that knee. His conditioning was top notch for tonight.
