Let the losers fight, Gus vs Evans.
evans' performance was :russell:
Gus on the other hand, :whoo:

I swear Gus DC and Jones are on a whole other level and the fights between them are always great (DC vs Jones was a bit less exciting because DC grappled against the cage too much).

Jones stays above tho, :manny:

How close was the DC/gus fight?
To me DC won 4 rounds, he only took gus down once which is surprising because when they were on the ground he was definitely dominating, but his standing game was on point, he kept on tagging him with heavy right hands and right uppercuts in the clinch.

Gus brought his A-Game for sure though, dude never lost energy, kept moving didn't let himself get grinded against the cage.

I'll say this. People say DC and Gus gave him his best fights. I disagree in the sense that the only real danger he ever was in was against Vitor. Jon Jones puts himself in harms way inside and outside the ring. He literally fights the way you wanna fight and beats you with it. He takes your keys to victory and says it's my keys to victory. :wow:

I thought Vitor had em, I'm still shocked Bones got outta that.

Gus' problem in the DC fight and same with Bones fight is he forgets it's a fight and not a sparring match. He throws 2 good shots n then starts running away and resetting. To be the champ u gotta go for the kill man. He cldve finished DC 3 different times but instead of staying in the pocket and throwing he got in the treadmill and did some cardio.

When Gus hit DC with the big knee against the cage, he shldve pressed and finished him. Instead, he let DC stand there holding him for 30secs to get saved Bell. DC at 1 point was just looking up staring at the clock counting.

he blew it right there, i also think gust is afraid of mixing it up. i mean the guy is 6'5 and hes running from a 5'10 guy. that looks real bad to the judges

lets also talk about cormier having a stone chin, that punch he took from rumble ko's 99% of the fighters out there and he regrouped, that knee knocks out most fighters
dude is a warrior

part II going to be a classic

Bingo if anything Gus is a gate keeper now his killer instinct has been tamed when it comes to the top tier fighters. If he learned anything in the Jones fight is don't let it go to the judges in a champ fight be convincing. His biggest mistake besides not finishing is the fact he allowed himself to take unnecessary punishment in the clinch. DC did that in To Jones fight too but Jones honestly didn't care

Gus can EASILY get knocked out. That's why he runs. DC had to reach so far to throw his shots, and some of them rocked Gus. If Jones had KO power, Gus would have no chance.

I'm thinking Gus doesn't have 5 rounds in him against jones and dc he gets gassed.
You still haven't explained what I had to remind you of. And when you are on a bike most of the time it's to be expected the problem here is cormier gassed too and Gus couldn't capitalize, very winnable fight in the end and he failed

Gus put up a good fight but he also showed why he isn't the the LHW champion right now. I thought cromier would fade but turns out in the last 2 rounds it was gus, the same way he did against jones.

Now sadly we have to see jones/cromier II... Jones dominated him, had him crying in the post fight presser and I hope after jones beats him again he moves up to HW because he cleaned out the division. I believe it was the at the end of the 4th round when jones slammed cromier and put his hand on his head like a little kid, jones embarrassed him but he has done that to everyone he's faced.

I feel like had Gus got out of the clinch against the cage when he had DC rocked, he could have finished. instead, he just stayed close rather than going for the finish
