Keanu Reeves gotta be the most mediocre actor to make it and remain relevant

I'm shocked by his career path. Went from Bill & Ted and took that to the A-list. Goes to show some actors manage their careers better (or just suck a lot of producer dikk).

He's like Kevin Costner. That breh had people fooled for a good 10 years. The Mailman was when people figured out he wasn't acting like a stoic guy, he just couldn't act :mjlol:

Say what you want about his acting abilities but he's great in action films and that's his lane... dude is a great physical actor. Just like Tom Cruise, except Cruise can act well enough to carry dramatic scenes.

LOL Kevin Costner is only good in certain roles as well... and ppl knew he was a limited actor years before Postman... Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves is where people started questioning his acting ability but he was just lucky to have a string of strong follow up films with performances that suit him.

He was up against scene stealing Alan Rickman and Morgan Freeman.

I don't have nothing against Keanu, but he's lucky Wick is very popular or he may very well be doing more direct to DVD flicks. It's not like he's been in a bunch huge or critically acclaimed movies the last 15 years.

Probably so, but I ain't mad at it.

The cool thing is that Reeves knows this. He is humble as hell and knows that he's not an amazing actor by any stretch. He understands that he was a movie star as was fortunate to get a career resurgence with the John Wick role. He doesn't pretend to be hot shyt or a great actor and I think that's pretty dope. He's one of the most non-Hollywood movie stars there's ever been. He's not out there on red carpets or acting pretentious. He's just doing a job like everyone else in the world treats it as such.

What I will give him credit for is that he is a great physical actor. At this point he's basically a stuntman that also acts. The John Wick flicks if nothing else are awesome dedications to the highest level stuntworkers and choreographers in the business. They've made casual moviegoers appreciate a lot of the people behind the camera.

Plus Reeves is able to do a lot with his body language and his face during action sequences, and while it's not Daniel Day-Lewis type shyt, it's a difficult skill-set in its own right and not everyone can do it.

Say what you will, but the man has serious dedication to his craft and he's 50+ years old putting on very legitimate physical performances on screen.
