How is it a scam? Tell me some stories of people you know that got scammed personally by nft.

Also every sector on this planet has scams within them.
Let's take the video game space. All these publishers are more than eager to jump onboard and promote these things but almost none of them can demo how they provide any real value to consumers. It's really just a way for the sellers to monetize and make money off something that provides no tangible value. In the face of that gamers are overwhelmingly rejecting them and any company that announces an NFT project is facing a backlash.

In the digital space a copy is as good as the original. Placing an artificial scarcity on such items simply to attempt to make them valuable is the very definition of a scam. Your ownership of a monkey gif is meaningless in the face of right click save to desktop.

I'm not talking video games as I don't think nft should be implemented with video games.

I'm talking regular NFTs. A copy isn't as good as the original, you cannot sell a saved ape for the same amount as a legit nft. So are yeezys a scam? Those are artificial scarcity to generate hype and so are alot of other physical items.

100% right on this. All innovative concepts has doubters when its first appears. A lot of people seem to forget this aspect for some reason. If someone told me they were going to make a living streaming video games 5 years ago i wouldve laughed in their face too. :francis:

...five years ago? :russ: Do you know how long Twitch has been around for? :mjlol:

Yeezys are a real physical item. In some respects I see them as a scam that people buy into. Made in some Chinese factory for pennies on the dollar that they're sold for. Be that as it may they are a teal tangible item still. Nobody has to explain the value of Yeezys to me even though I don't agree with them it's easily understood that it's a good that's sold can be used and resold. If I buy a pair of Yeezys I can put them on and walk around them and get reactions from people that see me in them.

What if Adidas started selling digital Yeezys though? Just snap a picture with a camera and issue digital ownership of the photo. Sell 20,000 of them on their website. What are you actually buying? Sure you spent money on something but it doesn't really have any value. They can't be worn can't even be held. Doesn't do anything.

This is what people are doing with NFTs.

The whole space is filled with people looking to create something from nothing and part fools from their money for what is essentially nothing at all.

Everything you said about Yeezy apply to NFTs.

A good that can be sold and resold = Yeezy and nft.

Can get reactions from it = Yeezy and nft.

Only difference is a good nft a) you can digitally or physically hang in your house whilst still having the nft digitally and b) a good nft you can make a great profit on.

When I ask you to explain the value of an NFT and the first thing you talk about is how you can make money from them for the most part it's safe to assume it's mostly a scam. The fact that they aren't real physical items lends further credence to that. They don't do anything other than hopefully appreciate in value.

Stephanie Matto's fart jar NFTs is as legitimate an item in the space as anything else because deep down it's nothing like the rest of them.

It’s really ironic in a way because Johnny Mnemonic is basically about a blockchain in his characters head and they use random images to lock it. The movie had a better concept of NFT uses compared to the bullshyt actually going on.

Also side note Johnny Mnemonic takes place in 2021..

I still die at the Room Service rant.

Alot of nfts come with physicals though, and a ton of free airdrops so what are you talking about?

Why didn't you address the questions I asked you?

"They don't do anything other than hopefully appreciate in value" well that could be said for traditional art. And like I said slot of nfts come with physicals and the ones that done you can have them in a digital frame.

He fails to understand that The NFT space is still in its infant form. Nobody even knew what it was until last year and still most dont. Judging a space in its infancy is naive to me.

While theyre a bunch of shill projects who just want to cash in, theyre are also ones who are pushing the boundary and creating the innovations of what nfts can do. Plenty of new industries had there doubters as well.
