Kawhi probably needs to sign a 1 year reset deal like Lebrun did in Cleveland then signs max with LA or whoever so he doesn’t lose an entire $80mil for not signing with the Spurs.

Which is why I'm shocked they didn't go hard to get Leonard.

I could understand before the season, when his status was still unknown in terms of how good he would look coming back, but with the International appeal of Toronto, OR with Leonard potentially being in LA next season, either market would have been a great look for Adidas.

And they did a great job with D. Rose who is also quiet but his play was undeniable, I thought it was a no brainer that they would go all out to get Kawhi

:yeshrug:

Adidas didn’t go after him hard because Kawhi’s not a “Superstar”. He’s a very good, maybe great player but he’s not a “Superstar”.

No one’s rushing out to buy Kawhi jerseys, not rushing to watch him on tv. Great player but the general NBA fan isn’t interested in him so he’s Not a “Superstar”.

He’s in his 8th year in the league with no signature shoe, and no one cares.

KD’s on shoe number 11. CP3 and Carmelo had 10 different signature shoes.

Lillard on his 5th pair and Paul George on hos 2nd pair.

Kawhi’s a great player but Adidas or Jordan brand wouldn’t have recouped the money spent to sign Kawhi.

I have several pairs of New Balance trail runners living up here in New England.

They are foam, super Comfortable, have great treads for being outside and shyt, plus they come in 3 different widths which makes finding a perfect fit way easier than Nike’s and Adidas.

The New Balance Wikipedia page explains why people are saying the company is MAGA

During 2016, New Balance opposed the Trans Pacific Partnership[6][7][8] and condemned the Obama administration's support for it, arguing that it would hurt their domestic shoe manufacturing (while Nike, which does not manufacture in the US, supported the TPP).[9][10] Matt Lebretton, the company's Vice President of public affairs said in April 2016 “I would say that when Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump all agree on something, then it has to be given a closer look; and they all agree that TPP is not the right policy.” After Donald Trump won the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Lebretton told a reporter “The Obama administration turned a deaf ear to us [about trade] and frankly, with President-elect Trump, we feel things are going to move in the right direction." Some news outlets reported that an ad-hoc boycott campaign was created out of an interpretation of Lebretton's remarks as supportive of Trump.[11][12][13][14] Owner and Chairman Davis donated almost $400,000 to the Trump Victory Committee in September 2016.[15]

He's looking like a Superstar right now... And he's coming out of shell some as well.

He's also in a more marketable city internationally so I thought from a potential aspect that Adidas would go after him

Being a “Superstar” has more to do than just with your play on the court. The basketball and public has to have an interest in you to be a “Superstar”.

But yes, he is playing like a Superstar. That was never in question.
