Let's wait and see how the Lakers fill out their team first. I'm assuming Lonzo will still be there. I don't know who else. But even with a weak bench I still think they're a contender. Kawhi can guard KD.

The problem with your line of thinking is that if everybody did that...took the stance of "uh oh i got hurt so i am not going to play"...then in a contract year...almost nobody would play...
Comparing Kawhi to I.T. is completely disingenuous because their injuries couldn't be more different AND their body types are so different due to height and weight injuries wouldn't affect them the same way...
And another problem comparing him to I.T. and Grant Hill is that...those are two nba players...what about the hundreds of not thousads of nba players between the time span of Grant Hill injury and the I.T. injury who DIDN'T get re-injured or DIDN'T get misdiagnosed?
To play the "what happens if he end up like I.T. and like Grant Hill" is to play the worst scenario game. Why would you think the worst scenario would happen to you? Seems weird...
Kawhi wants to leave the spurs for LA that is fine...but be man enough to just say "I want to leave and go to LA"...don't have reports talking about how you told confidants you want to go to LA...but then have it reported you haven't told the spurs anything...that is some hoe shyt...
I have NEVER seen a player in the nba...maybe in sports period...get a bigger pass than Kawhi is getting...dude basically got a mysterious injury then refused to let team doctors look at it then blamed team doctors for it then came back and played 9 games then said he was still hurt then got ANOTHER group of doctors from his original doctor he had back in august then bounced to new york and was basically never heard from again...imagine if lebron or kd did that...it would be an hour long special about how much of a p*ssy they are...but somehow kawhi got the goat coach who wife just died of fukking cancer chasing him around trying to have a meeting and people are like "i just don't undrestand why people are mad at kawhi about this"...
This nikka was to hurt to even sit on the bench then the playoffs ended and his camp was like "he almost a 100%"
Then that story came out about the lakers being a little hesitant to trade for him cause they don't know if he is really healthy and then THE VERY NEXT DAY his camp puts out "Kawhi is a 100 % healthy"
Like I swear coli nikkas is running this dude life... @charmander got to be his uncle and one of his friends got to be his agent

I’m not mad at Kawhi myself but you summed this up well.
This is disingenuous though, he/his camp don't care about giving the Spurs the chance to get anything
They just want to be in LA asap so they ducking behind all these stories like cowards
