I get how Pop has no leverage, but neither do the Lakers! They just gave four years to LeBron, and they probably have two years of superstar-level play from him max before his body and play start to clearly slip. They can't even waste one game of one of these first two seasons, IMO. They went in on Bron, so Magic had damned well better get the pieces to go with him to challenge the Warriors now. Not next year, not at the trade deadline, but now. It's not a rebuild anymore.
I think Magic should just say, "we'll give you one of Ball/Ingram, one of Kuzma/Randle, we'll throw in Chicago's 2019 2nd we acquired and maybe another 2nd in 2020 or some shyt, but you also have to take the corpse of Luol Deng and his contract back with you."
That's a fair enough deal, but Magic can't be giving deadlines like he isn't under pressure to win right now in a stacked West.
