I get how Pop has no leverage, but neither do the Lakers! They just gave four years to LeBron, and they probably have two years of superstar-level play from him max before his body and play start to clearly slip. They can't even waste one game of one of these first two seasons, IMO. They went in on Bron, so Magic had damned well better get the pieces to go with him to challenge the Warriors now. Not next year, not at the trade deadline, but now. It's not a rebuild anymore.

I think Magic should just say, "we'll give you one of Ball/Ingram, one of Kuzma/Randle, we'll throw in Chicago's 2019 2nd we acquired and maybe another 2nd in 2020 or some shyt, but you also have to take the corpse of Luol Deng and his contract back with you."

That's a fair enough deal, but Magic can't be giving deadlines like he isn't under pressure to win right now in a stacked West.
When are you guys going to give up this dream of the Spurs taking on Deng's contract?

Are you that delusional?

This is getting really interesting. Who is going to give the Spurs something decent knowing LeBron is in LA and Kawhi would just walk there next year. But the Spurs don't want to deal with Lavar and that circus and with Kuzma off the table what options are there?

We had this same exact discussion last year. LA won’t be able to bully the spurs into a deal so all this talk is garbage. A lot can change in one season..just ask PG

Kawhi pulling this heel turn would be so much more interesting if he wasn't still being a fukking mute.

This guy is so weird.

I think SAS is bullshytting about that Kuzma stuff. He's always said Kuzma is off limits for HIM if he was a GM, but I know the Lakers prefer BI over Kuz (tho they love them both).

Hard to believe the deal would be stuck if Kuzma was the headliner of the deal...unless Bron indicated he wanted Kuz around.

Was it @twan83 who said that Pop likely refused to guarantee Kawhi the max in their San Diego meeting?

It's looking more like that's part of this whole thing...

Lonzo or Ingram, hmmm, I wonder what they'll pick? :mjlol:

Hell, while we're at it, perhaps the Spurs will give them a choice between taking Kawhi or Patty Mills. :troll:

This is a silly post because the Spurs are trying to trade an asset that is losing value rapidly in the sense that his club control is evaporating with each day once the season starts, so SA is going to have to take some garbage to get the players that they want in any trade.

EDIT: Or they can take fifty cents on the dollar from a team in the East, or they can just sit on Kawhi for a half-year or the full year, but if they want to get some sort of foundational return, they're not getting that without caveats.
