Nah imo KAT on this team will be viewed as the number 2. Yes they can win games off talent. KAT has all stars and all NBAs he can’t play roam around catch and shoot. They need him to get post touches bring the defense to him. He can pass out if they double but his presence is needed as a #2.

Yes, by the same people still arguing Tatum vs Brown…while they size their rings.

Dudes talking like this the same 26ppg KAT. He averaged 22 last year and 21 the year before as the wolves have gotten better (19 in the playoffs). Still the same level of talent, just didn’t need to do as much. Now he’s on an even more talented team. Brunson controls the ball he gone get his all the same. Bigs sacrifice most scoring-wise in situations like this. If you want precedent:

Porzingis went from 23ppg the year before to 20
Kevin Love went from 26 to 16
Bosh went from 24 to 19
KG went from 22 to 19

With KAT if you take that 21/22 and factor in that same type of sacrifice yes I can see him averaging 18 and Bridges the same. And I’m only using “option” for a more casual/lay explanation :hhh: If they’re smart they will not have any type of pecking order after Brunson and they won’t approach this as ‘Brunson and Katt’s team’. That’s not who he is and this roster is the perfect place for him not to force that

Porzingis, Love, Bosh & KG all had two guys ahead of them that were clearly superior scorers in Tatum/Brown, LeBron/Kyrie, LeBron/Wade and Pierce/Ray. Mikal Bridges and OG are not at that level

If anything, I think Mikal is the guy that you're describing. That will go from a situation where he had too much responsibility on offense in Brooklyn to now going back to a role that his game fits better like he had in Phoenix

Like I said, I completely understand the concept of what you're talking about. I just don't think it will apply to KAT with the Knicks. It's not even about an official pecking order, I just don't see KAT having drastically different usage than what he had in Minnesota to compare with some of the names you originally brought up

KAT is going to be playing Center instead of PF. He's a #1 option moving back to his natural position. If KAT averages only 18 then the Knicks aren't even winning 50 games. Stop it.

Yea idk where this pecking order shyt is coming from and it must be from folks that don’t even watch the team.

The only real topic of convo was when Randle was there but he’s gone now. Kat, OG & Mikal all have reserved personalities and they cool with not being the first option.

Exactly. If I had a magic wand and could chose how it plays out, I would want Brunson to play exactly the same just add a lil bit more traditional PG capabilities, more assists. 25 and 8. First team NBA. I’d want KAT to rebound and have his most efficient year ever, improve on D. 18 and 11. All star. I’d want bridges aggressive and tbh I’d want him outscoring KAT. I know what KAT can do but Bridges has another level he can go to become an elite wing. 20, 5, and 5. All star and first team defense. Then OG 6th man of the year

Yea aight. I’ll be quoting you soon.

Yall are still stuck on that ‘big 3’ model. That ‘will your team to victory or your legacy is at stake  ‘ goofiness

They do not need him turning into Patrick Ewing. He’ll be efficient and just as impactful without averaging 20. And again he just averaged 19 in the playoffs for a WCF team. :why:

It does make a lot of sense for the Knicks, even though I don’t like the fact that they lost Donte. I think the Nova factor is huge. They all played their best basketball last season when the 3 were together, it just felt like their comraderie was a big factor.

I don’t think this really hurts the Wolves, but it’s not really moving the needle either. Reid can easily replace Towns’ production IMO. I don’t really think Towns is that much better honestly. Donte is a nice pickup. Randle is an ISO guy. Not sure why they needed him when they already have one of the best ISO players with Ant. Towns is a sharpshooting 7 footer. Think they could’ve gotten a package that suits their team better.
