Personally, I don't see Kanye influencing the fashion styles of anyone. Hell, Marc Anthony has a fashion line. He's not inspiring people either. So he's not an icon.

Now if you personally are inspired by Kanye's style...more power to you.
If you are happy that Kanye is getting some shine on GQ because he's black...great.

I've commended him like 3 times in this thread for being on the cover.
He's just not my style.

I don't have to put this goon on a fashion pedestal just because he's successful (for MUSIC).

Ye is rocking shyt usually 2-3 years before the rest of the game catches up.

This was everything from established brands like polo and nike to then esoteric street wear brands like bape, stussy, visvim, and supreme, all the way to high fashion like YSL, Balmain, Bottega Vanettea, Hermes, Rick Owens, etc etc etc.

NO ONE was pushing this shyt on a level before Kanye.

Look at the Balenciaga phase. You can single handedly trace that to Ye influence.

We're arguing art and so you either get it or you don't.

All the girls I know acknowledge what Ye has done over the years in promote certain brands and cultural statements over the rest of his peers.

Ye is truly a trend setter.

Look at brands like givenchy doing the long shirts with the numbers on it... :ufdup:

Look at brands copying the balmain trend with biker denin and crazy stitching :ufdup:

Look at Ye getting dudes to start rocking slimmer profile clothes and less outwardly branded clothes :ufdup:

Look at Ye's influence on street wear clothes and shoes :ufdup:
