He's right, and the Bulls might actually be better off tanking and getting a good draft pick (Since they can use the excuse that Derrick Rose is hurt ) letting Derrick Rose get as healthy as he can be, and going through a psuedo rebuilding period to prepare for the 2013-2014 season when D.Rose is back at full strength.

think about it. you know the heat and the celtics are locks. You also got the pacers. then the knicks and nets are prolly gonna make it.

so without rose the bulls all the bulls have to do is get past the magic, hawks, or bucks for the final three spots. even without rose i thinks bulls are still better the bucks and the magic might not even have dwight next season. the hawks are still a playoff team but i think the bulls at the very least will make a 7th or 8th seed. and if rose comes back halfway through season and performs like he used to, the bulls might even get up to a 4th or 5th seed.

Jeff Van Gundy, in an interview with the Miami Herald, thinks the Heat will break the ’96 Bulls’ record of 72 wins, and will challenge the ’72 Lakers’ record for consecutive wins of 33. No, seriously. He went out and said what a lot of people are thinking:

`They will break the single-season win record [of 72],” Jeff Van Gundy
said. “And I think they have a legit shot at the Lakers’ 33-game
[winning] streak [in 1971-72], as well. And only the Lakers have even a
remote shot at beating them in a playoff series. They will never lose
two games in a row this year.

“They have put together a much better roster than anybody
could ever have expected,” Van Gundy added. “There is now no good way
to defend them. They are unguardable. They are indefensible. They are
just too good and have added so much shooting and are so versatile that
they will score at will.”

The fact is that this kind of talent combination has rarely been seen in the NBA over the past 30 years. Expansion, the salary cap, and the market have all conspired to prevent such an uneven distribution of talent. For all the worries about chemistry, their lack of size, their egos, and everything else, this is a ridiculous amount of talent. We’re talking about some of the top players in the NBA, arguably three of the top five, all suiting up in the same color jerseys for 82 games (well, okay, they’re likely to coast and sit at the end, but you get what I’m tossing out there).

Van Gundy’s remarks should be well regarded. He’s been around the NBA for quite a while. He’s seen greatness first hand, and isn’t one to throw out that kinds of lofty praise.

no rose, korver, watson, asik, lucas, brewer. yall couldnt even handle the 76ers without rose, but yall supposed to make the playoffs without all them other dudes? lol. Good luck depending on Deng, Boozer and RIP to lead you to the playoffs. I dont care how good your coach is, you dont win in this league without players. Almost every team in the east has improved their rosters, bulls are done.

couldnt handle the 76ers without rose and noah.

secondly can you really type the loses of the guys you have posted with confidence lol are you serious? at worst they have been replaced already. the reason they are all gone is because they couldnt handle the 76ers without rose. the only guy thing we will miss is asik defense off the bench, the rest of those guys are not irreplaceable, and to suggest otherwise is just out of hatred and hope that the bulls will fall out of the playoffs. its silly to even continue with that one, you cant definitively post 8 playoff teams in the east better than the bulls without flat out reaching and looking like an idiot.

but we not talking playoffs, we talking reg season wins in which the bulls were on pace to a 62 win season (if the season was reg) with rose out of the line up for 1/3 of the games. thibs can flat out coach and gets a whole training camp with the new roster. you mean to tell me thibs can coach up john lucas, cj watson and ronnie brewer but cant get nothing out of marco, kirk, vlad, butler and nate?

now playoffs different story, but stop it, the bulls defense alone will get them to a top 6th seed and stop acting like rose not coming back in February, in which we could fight in march and april and climb up a couple slots.

"Bulls are done": This is pure hate. We might squeek in the playoffs or not, but your 3 man team ain't scaring anyone either. At least you'll have Jay and B halfcourt.

the only way the bulls dont make the playoffs is if we are in blatant tank mode, which does not seem to be the case considering the filling out of the bench and the maintaining of noah/deng/boozer. if we were going to tank, we should have unloaded all of them. cant pay these dudes this much to tank.

Let's see:

East
Heat
Celtics
Nets
Pacers
Knicks
76er's
Bulls
Magic

Of course they'll make it, this is the eastern conference after all.

In Thibs I trust its all about the system not the players.

:deadrose: but u still right though. thibs will manage to get this into the playoffs but i doubt they make out the first round because they'll prolly be matched up against the heat in round 1.

in all actuality....
by pedigree at pg,...

teague is a step above miles and lucas.

i expect him to be a starter given time.

plus, i see butler being a starter this season and surprising a lot of people as well.

i also see them getting a better quality steisma type in a 10 day.

who can be what asik was, off the bench defensively.:

the bulls could be a real suprise even though they did not really get any wow type of fa acquisitions.

drafting teague was a good move,..that even i had overlooked.

till i thought about it.

so losing cj watson and ronnie brewer will be the death of the bulls?

its amazing them dudes was scrubs according to this board when they were with the bulls but now since they gone they are key pieces that will hurt the bulls chances of getting wins.

thibs is the key, thibs was always the key. bulls are def a playoff team. might not be a 1st seed/best record in the league, playoff team but def a playoff team. only thing we will miss is omer asik defense with the 2nd unit, you are delusional if you think cj watson and ronnie brewer and korver and lucas being gone is going to break the bulls lol are you serious?

:whoo:

I didnt even know they lost all that. :damn: Isnt that your entire bench? Who did they replace these guys with?
