At this point let them. :yeshrug:

Manchin has already blocked voting rights for black people and paid maternity leave for women.

Let's see what happens when he blocks a black woman from getting on the Supreme Court. :mjlit:
What do you think will happen? He’s in WV. Blocking progress for black people is in their DNA.

What I’ve been saying for the pay three years.

He’s going to push KBJ to the SCOTUS nomination, Tanya Chutkan to the D.C. appeals court, and may nominate Sherillyn Iffill to the D.C. District Court.

Other major option is Paul Watford, but he’s already holding his own on the increasingly conservative 9th Circuit

That’s exactly why she’d be the person to move up, it’s rare to have a non-appeals court judge nominated.
There’s no standard amount of time one has to be on the CoA
You can't play with Manchin. The whole argument will be about lack of experience.

Kruger doesn't give you those problems. She's been on the Cali Supreme Court for 7 plus years.

Now we just gotta wait for Joe Manchin to submit his list of selections so Biden can pick one :mjlol:.

Hopefully they pick someone young (relatively speaking) and don't swing for "bipartisan" support and drag this process out longer than it has to. They've done enough to establish that just convincing Manchin and Sinema to support the administration is a challenge, so at least be realistic this time.

Manchin’s reasoning does not matter. Either he falls in line or he doesn’t, and it won’t have anything to do with experience.
Don’t fall for the okey-doke breh.

It’s like Obama choosing a SCOTUS Justice he thought the Republicans would want, as if it would change a single thing.

The problem now is that even if Breyer gets replaced with Ketaji Jackson-Brown; we’re still stuck with a right-wing majority on the court for the next few years (as long as Clarence Thomas’ health remains).

so we just get another brilliant jurist whose going to be known for brilliant dissents.

But I’m still glad he’s retiring instead of dying in office with another Republican President.
Waiting for c00n Thomas to meet the same demise as his daddy Scalia… We almost there

if he doesn’t want her, he’ll find an excuse. Watch how the GQP finds a way to demonize whatever black woman Joe picks. It will be ugly.

You gotta pick who you wanna pick and get the media on your side so anyone going against it looks like a bigger Jack ass than usual
