The shining disrespect I mean I get what you're trying to say I think but they're def horror films, just not your run of the mill jump scare hacky shyt.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm saying - theres a clear distinction between movies like that and what most people understand by the term 'horror'. For example The Shining is put into better context as part of Kubricks filmography than as a piece of genre work.

A lot of auteur filmmakers don't fit into boxes like that. But in the end its semantics and it's still a great film. Can't wait for The Lighthouse.
