Fox still owns the prints for the unaltered versions, so it's up to if they will work with Disney.

I don't think they'd do that because it does no good to piss off George Lucas at this point. Yeah he's sold it to Disney but as that cinema blend article points out, he still owns ILM and Skywalker Sound, two companies that will be heavily involved in the new flicks. I don't think you can ignore the prequels but you don't have to do anything to retcon them out of existence. There's a nice medium they can find and I'm sure they've found it

Since they were prequels and were slave to previously established continuity i dont know how or why they would have to acknowledge anything before a new hope. Its not like skywalker would be waxing poetic about mace windu or darth maul after rotj

The OG cuts have been released on DVD. They were on the bonus disc of one of the many re-releases.

Unfortunately the quality of them is shyt. Non-anamorphic, 2.0 sound, just completely half-assed
