You know. The mob could've just saved a lot of time and possibly a whole movie by, just like, not time travelling? Time travelling is really illegal. I get that. But then people are murdered in broad daylight with no thought? So obviously murder isn't as big a deal as time travelling. So the mob could've just killed people...without time travelling. Sure, once they started time travelling it muddled up the future and of course now you NEED the time travel to right the things you fukked up, my question is why the mob kept going? Why was there a looper system in the first place!!! Just do your mob job and kill people and it'll be alright!

Yep.

Uhh, they explained this...lol

EDIT: nevermind...I see this was already discussed.

Ok brehs just watched this film, and what a great edge of seat yet chilling movie. I checked the first couple of pages and this wasnt discussed, sorry if it has been later in the thread, but the boy is sure Sara isn't his real mom...
but in the final scene where the boy lifts everyone up, but then Sara calms him saying "mommy's here for you" etc. so does he realize that she indeed is his real mother at this time? Is that really relevant? I liked the movie but didnt feel young Joe offing himself, its a giant race for survival throughout the whole movie, kill or be killed, guess that was the beat way out entertainment wise.

Syd thinks Sara's sister is his mom. He thought that because Sara left him to be with the sister when he was born. That was the time he felt real "mommy" love for her. He is 3, he doesnt know better but that moment it hit him, although they hinted at it a few times earlier like after she left the bomb shelter room after he had a fit and Syd hugged her and said sorry.

I came here to suggest that Joe was indeed the rainmaker.

The scars on the side of his head after he killed himself were from the truck accident I'm assuming.

Therefore I would now agree that Joe was not the rainmaker.

Very good discussion on the movie gentleman.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film and will recommend it to others.

he is older than 3, his birth year was 2039 and someone (the mother i think) mentions it was 10 years ago

Lol not that I know of... I've never seen Butterfly Effect though he told me I should watch it. He actually does have great taste in movies though. He put me on Casino and Goodfellas to name a few. Will I be wasting my time with this one?
