This just came to mind. Back to the future started off at a farm. Looper spent half the movie there.

Also a big part of Looper was the diner scene....... just like all of the Back to the Futures.....hmmm

The lady on the farm takes care of JGL, just like Marty mom...lol

thats funny cause the whole movie i was thinking how somehow this reminded me so much of back to the future :mindblown: and not just cause of the time travel aspect.

the movie had that piff classic feel to it too just like back to the future. like ur just relaxed, in the movies world, watching it. best movie of the year :win:

The funny thing is, when watching the trailers, I though the present time was in the 50's/60's.

It's good but is does have problems. The prosthetic makeup on JGL is really inconsistent and at times it took me out of the movie. Almost everytime we see a source of light we also see lens flares, really annoying. The time travel logic is kinda broken.

It has heart and greating acting.

I'd like to see a sequel set 25 years in the future based on a running looper

Fawk this entire back to the future shut just straight action running & gunning

Ride or die

It isn't makeup. It's CGI, and it was not distracting at all. He looked like a young bruce willis.

Someone explain...

where young Joe was trying to direct old Joe. He sent him to get shot in the head? Was that just unintended?

Anyway, dope flick. Just when I needed some good sci fi. And that scene was dope too.

Looper (2012) - Full cast and crew

Makeup Department
Jamie Kelman .... prosthetic makeup artist: Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Kazuhiro Tsuji .... prosthetic makeup designer: Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Cass McClure .... prosthetic technician
Wesley Wofford .... key prosthetic makeup

I said it was inconsistent, sometimes it was good and sometimes bad. I think they may have shot the scenes before we saw Bruce Willis for the first time last because he's the big name star and he gets to finish his stuff before JGL. Because before we see Bruce Willis, JGL makeup is great and they nailed it late in the production. If you think back to when we first see a close up of JGL and when we see him with Bruce the makeup is not of the same caliber.

You know. The mob could've just saved a lot of time and possibly a whole movie by, just like, not time travelling? Time travelling is really illegal. I get that. But then people are murdered in broad daylight with no thought? So obviously murder isn't as big a deal as time travelling. So the mob could've just killed people...without time travelling. Sure, once they started time travelling it muddled up the future and of course now you NEED the time travel to right the things you fukked up, my question is why the mob kept going? Why was there a looper system in the first place!!! Just do your mob job and kill people and it'll be alright!

Yep.

They explained right in the beginning of the movie that in the future it is nearly impossible to dispose of bodies. The only way possible is to send them back in time.

Indeed. But that still does not explain why use time travel in the first place. What I'm trying to get at is time travel is super illegal, and it's clearly much more heinous and terrible than actual murder. I mean the mob begins killing everyone involved with time travel to not get caught time travelling. So you would think the mob would use sound reasoning and just go about murdering instead of employing the headache that is time travel. The only thing time travel is used for is murder and disposing bodies yet didn't Paul Dano kill that one guy in the beginning for looking at his motorcycle? (That's an actual question. I can't remember because it was right in the beginning. If so...what? If you can murder in broad daylight what's the problem?)

He did kill that one guy in broad daylight. In the present/2044. 30 years into the future is when they need to send people back to the past to have their bodies disposed. We can assume it's easier to hide a time machine in the future than it is a dead body. Young Joe eve said something like they use "tagging techniques and such" in the future and that's why the mobs can dispose of the bodies.

Fair enough :ehh:

Good movie though in the end. Dunno about anyone else but I think would've been fine with having my loop closed. Say you get into the Looping game like, mid 30's early 40s. That's a decent-ish life right there!
