First question was innocent enough.......from then on the fukkery ensued.......you asked a kid was she mixed and when voting if she chose black or white? And your shocked at your firing?
Be a prime of example of when keeping it real goes wrong........OP thought the COLI applied to all aspect of real life.
I still don't see an issue with that question. I was making a point that most minorities don't vote nowadays and I asked if she identified as black or white because it was according to the topic at hand. She answered the question and giggled. No issues.
at that age kids learned from observing their parents how to smile in peoples faces but go tattle tale to get people in trouble. Kids love to tattle tale on each other, what makes you think they wont do it to an adult.

I don't necessarily agree with this. OP deserved a warning...or probationary period for a 1st offense that is just now being addressed.
While I wouldn't have made those statements, it's extremely unfair how the general population can talk about anything at leisure & with disdain, professionalism be damned. I've witnessed them gloat about Pres Bush, Mike Vick, OJ, Ray Rice, etc. Then in the same breath, be as quiet as a church mouse about DAVID VITTER!!! And during all of this, black people are still censored. This is why we need our own businesses & establishments.

I used to work in Corporate but realized i needed to stack my bread and get out, and go independent...a lot of dudes didn't realize they were one bad quarter away from being let go and the ones who stayed hardly ever got promoted, they almost always promote Eric, Randy and Sun Jin over Jamal
I see a lot of brothers on here make threads about discrimination/unfair practices in the workplace or getting laid off unexpectedly....so it's not just you but a lot of black men deal with that from these cacs....so as black men it's wise to plan for the future, work the job but save as much money as you can while you're doing it and always have other streams of income on the side, because that job could easily be gone tomorrow. I've seen many dudes living like they knew that job would always be there, then all of a sudden they got laid off and then don't have any other form of employment. We can't dependent on these cacs so much
Dudes in here are telling you how to "conform"....it's best to be in a position where you don't even have to do that....i used to have to act a certain way around cacs and yet me and all the other black men were still underpaid compared to the white and asian dudes, now with me having my own i don't have some cac dictating if i should have a beard or not, what i can do, how long i can go to lunch, etc. A lot of black men seem to like having a cac tell them what to do, for a small slice of the pie, there's no way i'd live like that for the rest of my life

However the system handles infractions is how they handle them. If OP wouldn't have put himself in that position he would not be dealing with what he is dealing with.
BTW the general populace cannot talk about whatever in their leisure unless they are anonymous. How many people get fired based off Twitter statuses? When you work for a company the stuff you do in your off time reps the company and if you sign an agreement consenting to uphold a certain standard out of work and don't then you put yourself at the mercy of others. People sign shyt and then don't want to honor it then that's on them. If it's a problem, I agree, start your own shyt.
