Nope. Any time I saw the district's first three digits on my phone, I would break into hives. Get fired as a sub and you can't sub in the entire district. So imagine trying to get a job as a sub in another district. No haps.

I'm not dumb. I just didn't think I would get terminated for such elementary comments. You can call me naive but not dumb. And funny enough, I've already worked at UPS doing preload back in 2011-2014. Never going back to that dump.

Nah, we're gonna stick with dumb for now. It has nothing to do with your education. What you did was dumb, and thinking you were gonna be cool in a majority white school after admin got wind of what you said was dumb.

Subbing is cool, but you do have to watch your actions and words.

You are the most interesting change they have had over their routine/mundane days. So you being there is unique and if you go to far off the reservation, even if you think its innocent, they will speak on it.

Brilliant advice for all subs. Too many subs get caught in thinking that the kids "like" them just b/c they're not pelting you with spitballs. It's a very delicate balance - and if you're subbing in a black school, it's even more precarious b/c they (for the most part) actually can relate w/you. Before you know, you're really getting your ego stroked (or your head torn off). Cac teachers can't stand to see black students relating to black subs.

My advice would be this: don't take anything personal, good OR bad.
