could fucc around with them biomedical sciences
I'm going to look more into biomedical engineering. I need to see what a career is like in this field.
You can teach science with just a Bachelor's in most states I think. I thought about teaching biology, went down to the department to talk to them and they needed science teachers so bad they were near begging me to apply. It was sad.
Nova Science said:Program Description
In 1987, NOVA's cameras began rolling to chronicle the lives of seven young, bright medical students embarking on the longest and most rigorous endeavor in higher education: the years-long journey to become a doctor. From their first days at Harvard Medical School to the present day, none of them could have predicted what it would take, personally and professionally. In "Doctors' Diaries," a two-hour special, NOVA returns to find out what sorts of doctors—and people—the seven young students have become. The program is the latest installment in the longest-running U.S. documentary of its kind.
In addition to the Editors' Picks features at left, you can read in-depth interviews and see more video in Doctors' Lives from the original program website. And learn more about various M.D. Specialties.

An interesting perspective of the medical field.
yeah I felt for old boy, who went through like 4 marriages.Damn good looks on this.
@ the marriages dropping like flies
Man it is what is. It's good for people to have a working knowledge of the medical field. Especially since some of them went into R&D and setting up charities. I consider being a doctor, once just sohh I could go back to South Africa and help out.@ how some of these docs are leavin.
Yeh, I felt for breh. He was a very bright dude too. You would never expect him to be a physician at first glance. It sucked that he got the run arounds. He was also buff at the beginging of the series but, over time turned into . This my biggest fear of getting too big off a bulk like semtex did....The ER doc was fukkin BURNT lmao but hey when you genuinely love somethin...
That dude was focused since day 1.....And as expected, the anesthesiologist came out on top.
Very good doc. Appreciated the insight on their lives (or lack thereof) outside of their careers. Really makes you question if its worth it. But I guess there's always physician assistant if you want a better work life balance..
I just tok the GRE, so it's too late to apply to Grad School.
The med school situation seems a little taxing. It's like once you start your life is . I may look into it.
I really fukked up by not getting any research experience.
I was looking for something that I could do for a year or two.
One of my mentors is a PA. Breh works literally from 9-4; weekends off. The hospital is in a nice neighborhood. Breh makes over 100k, seems a like a lucrative career to me
Yea during one of my internships last summer I hung around the ortho department a lot. Got in real good with a PA. Works four 10hr days, weekends off, no on call hours. Been in the game for over 20 yrs. Banks over 200k. He loved everything about being a PA.
I asked him why he didn't opt for med school. My man gave it to me straight: "You see, these docs live their career whether they like it or not. They pretty much have to take their work home. Me personally, I wanna go home. And when I get there I wanna light up the BBQ, crack open a beer, and enjoy my life."
I see what he means after watching this video.
PA = do Dr. work without Dr. paper work, for ~1/3rd the pay and ~1/3rd the schooling. Freedom to move to other specialties without going back to school.
Definitely keepin that option open
