Sopranos is my fav show ever since watching it 3 years ago, the comedy is better than most comedic shows n that’s not even it’s strongest suit. The theme of change, nature vs nurture, masculinity, nationalism n so much more make it forever relevant. I get why people don’t like BB so much but it’s jus a fun ride seeing the emergence of WW demons n his inevitable downfall regardless of me knowin where the plot leads to cause it’s alway bout the journey n not the destination for me personally also I feel it has stronger cinematography than Sopranos

More random thoughts: I wonder if Lindelof got the idea of purgatory being a hotel from Sopranos for the leftovers. Also, the sopranos has the most accurate dream sequences I’ve ever seen in a show. The dream were Tony’s teeth fall out, is an extremely common anxiety fueled theme in dreams, as a vivid lucid dreamer with panic disorder I’ve had many dreams where my teeth fall out. The randomness mixed with real memories or events is just so accurate to what dreaming is, and they did it without being over the top and ridiculous. I think my favorite episode is still the one with Chris and Paulie trying to kill that Russian commando in the snowy woods.

Sopranos got somewhat self-parodying (how many car crashes can one guy get into before they take his license...), obviously Gandolfini carried it, but I felt it was closer to a sitcom in some instances. The Wire just had a lot more dynamic shyt going on and the writing was better in terms of shyt being set-up and paid off seasons in advance.

You just finished the greatest show of all time and is saying The Wire and Breaking Bad is better? Lol. Sounds like you need to watch it all over again.

No other drama comes close to how perfect The Sopranos is.

The Wire was my favorite show of all time for more than a decade until I decided to finally watch the sopranos. The depth of Tony Soprano will never be matched. And the fact that the actor who played Tony Soprano has actually passed away in real life now makes him and the show mythical status. Amazing actors, amazing storyline. It was one of those shows that actually enriched your life. Amazing experience being able watching it:wow:

I still haven’t been able to get into the wire, I think I’m just generally bored of the whole war on drugs, gang/baltimore setting. Obviously greatgreat writing and well made. I just haven’t been in the mood every time I’ve tried to watch it

I hear you. I actually felt that way about the Sopranos. Took me years to actually give it a watch. What you realize about these shows is greatness is greatness. The Wire is simply a great show, don’t let the “drug theme” hold you back it gets much deeper than that. At the end of the day they might not have a Tony Soprano but they have a host of great actors that could match the Sopranos supporting cast. You gotta give it a spin fam

Nah breh. BB ain't in the same vicinity as Wire or Sopranos. These 2 shows are just...perfect.

BB is a overhyped show and only people that didn't saw Wire or Sopranos when they were airing put it higher.
