I did watch the first season on Netflix and it was good but I didn't watch the whole 2nd season cause I kinda of getting tired of it. The chick "Alice" and him just played out...it's jut too bullsh!t to me.

:whew::ohlawd:

Yall need to get up on this.

Oh and here's something cool I noticed...."Luther" takes place in the same universe as "The Wire". The character John Munch first appeared on "Homicide: Life on the Street" by David Simon....the character later popped up in season 5 of "The Wire"....in season 1 ep 5 of "Luther" John Munch is mentioned as the American contact for the British SCU.

"Arrested Development" and "X-Files" also take place in the same universe as "Luther" and "The Wire". John Munch appeared on those shows too. :mindblown:

Never watched it before but that first episode hooked me when I got around to it, and I disagree with the consensus that the seasons need more episodes. IMO I love the way it's done.

:salute: To this show getting props on here, I've probably watched Season 1 twice already without getting bored though some of the killings were sick. His relationship with Alice has got to be one of the biggest odd couple situations on TV.

Crazy thing is this shows quality has basically set me up for paying attention to other BBC produced shows. Don't sleep on The Hour (British Mad Men and Jimmy McNulty is even in it), State of Play, and Sherlock all those shows are quality.

Luther is that shyt.

Can't believed they let Elba go to get Tyler Perry in Alex Cross.

Season 2 had one of my favorite episodes.

Dude going ham with the hammer. Walking down the street going into random people's car smashing the fukk out of people :turk:

When you think about it, it might have been a blessing in disguise. The Luther is really just a better written, English version of Alex Cross. Although not a practicing psychiatrist, he's basically great because he's able to psychoanalyze the sociopaths and get a step ahead of them, much like Cross. There are even a couple characters and plots in Luther that seem like their taken straight from a specific cross novel. But the issue I always had with Cross books is that Patterson really struggles to capture the black voice of the character, which is a major part of his identity. There are no such issues with Luther, just a well fleshed out character with his own issues and demons, and he doesn't come off sounding corny.

:salute: the dumbass director/producer of Alex Cross. Because of them we got the beauty that is Luther.

Alot of these BBC shows have really short seasons.. I just watched Torchwood Children Of Earth based on alot of people saying it was better than the Starz TV Show (which is what made me a fan)... and they were right.. it was one of the most entertaining shows I've seen and it was only 5 episodes long...

I don't mind these shows being as short so much because of how well written/directed they are. It's just being so used to the 12 episode format.. it makes it a lil hard to get used to.

I started watching this show like a month or so ago and although I only watched a few episodes, I thought it was really good. I've yet to even start watching the second season.

:what:

The 2nd season is only 4 eps and Alice literally only has 5-10 minutes of screen time.

I only watched the first episode of Season 2 and I stopped watching....Don't know why...I guess I grow tired of it.

Series 2 being only 4 episodes had me depressed when I first watched this show. Looking forward to the third series.

Just finished season 2. Wasn't as good as season 1 but it was still :whoo:

Alice only being around for like 10 minutes kinda hurt the season. Her and Luther got great chemistry together. But I guess you gotta keep that to a minimum otherwise it's unrealistic.

The villains that popped up in the last 2 eps were :ohlawd: though. First the concept was kinda :shaq2: but the more they explained it the more :ohhh: it got.

Depending on how season 2 of "Homeland" ends I might have to tie this with that show.
