I'm watching all the Harry Potter movies on HBOMAX right now for the first time. I've seen bits and pieces over the years but never sat down and watched them because I thought they would be terrible compared to the books (which I really liked).

But last week when I was watching Potter 1 and 2, I couldn't shake the feeling that I felt like I was watching a Home Alone movie, ESPECIALLY when it got to the holiday scenes.

Christopher Columbus is a frickin genius.

He also worked with John Williams for the score of home alone. Pretty good choice for the first two films that are more kid oriented. Azkaban imo is the real masterpiece of all the movies.

PoA still probably the best movie overall and balanced book and movie changes best.

HBP still the worst and deviated the most...and there was zero levity to one of the most important scenes from the book.
