Thats pretty much what I was referring to as well since the majority of both of their points scored at similar stages in career was in the post (and in somewhat similar ways) and were considered strengths in their game. I dont know why that got people so vexxed.Clearly Randle is more explosive and dynamic and has more upside which is what I said so idk.

I wanted the Celts to take him but he and Sullinger are redundant :troll:

Kidding..but I remember a pre-draft Ainge interview talking generally about "trusting team doctors" so that may have played a factor with Randle's supposed foot issue and/or Embiid had the Celtics been in a position to take him somehow. Also, I think Ainge was working so many possible trade avenues that he may have figured Rondo was out the door then or at some point this season (or the pick would go to Min for Love in various points of the time-line)..and also Randle turned down a second workout/meeting with the Celtics. I wanted them to take him though...I was literally saying "anybody but Smart" to my friends before and during the draft :mjcry:

:heh:

I think it's funny that people think he can't shoot. He has an above average mid range game that will just get better

He's more athletic than most 4's. Dude can handle the rock. I don't think that there's a 4 that can stay in front of him off the dribble. Face up game. Back to the basket game. He's gonna give nigggas hell.

He's probably not gonna be blowing by dudes on his face up game. He's fast but he doesn't take long enough strides and he's not comfortable enough with his right hand to dribble through traffic.

I also don't think his jumper is NBA ready yet and I think he'll struggle a bit when people stop closing out on him so hard.

He just needs to polish that footwork, work on using his right hand to finish and dribble, and he needs to work on how long it takes for him to gather when he goes at the rim.

Sometimes, it seems like he takes a little too long between when he starts driving to his actual finishing. Smarter and more athletic defenders will make his life hell with that.

His jumper is still a work in progress, but his face up game is gonna be tough to contain when he gets space. I disagree that he doesn't have a great first step, regardless of strides. He's a proverbial "bull in a China shop" once he gets some momentum too, so he'll create space on his drives.

I hope early in the season he doesn't care about getting called for charges and just runs over a few people, especially on fast breaks to send a message to the rest of the league. :ohlawd:

He has a good first step in regards to quickness but his strides are slow, probably because he's not very good at gathering the ball at NBA speeds yet.

Randle did not reappear on the court after halftime, due to coach Byron Scott not being happy with his effort, Mike Trudell reports. He scored just four points (2-5 FG) with one rebound and one assist in 11 minutes.

Spin: Randle has now scored four points in his last two preseason games and has failed to top 20 minutes in the last three contests. He has also only registered just one combined block, three-pointer and steal through the entire preseason. Even if he was getting starter's minutes, Randle's inability to produce in categories aside from points and rebounds limits his fantasy usefulness and with him lingering on the bench, it's hard to recommend drafting him in 10 or 12 team leagues.

Randle will be nice in due time but the rookie of the year is gonna be Jabari by a landslide.
