No he wasn't necessarily better. He benefitted from inheriting the largest economic expansion in us history and Obama's attemp to actually balance the budget deficit in America.

Plus donald overhauled the tax code making it harder for a lot of people to deduct certain expenses and make adjustments on you taxes (although business owners benefitted the most from the TCJA which is good for them, but the avg American ain't a business owner).

And quiet as kept, the federal debt exploded under trump. And this was before the pandemic. All this inflation bullshyt were dealing with was ultimately gonna happen anyway but covid just accelerated it. (And yes, covid was Trump’s blunder. The fact that he still has a shot at winning is nothing short of Amazing and tells you how fukked up and racist a lot of Americans are in the head :mjpls:)

But at the end of the day, the president dosent control the economy as much as people think so it is what it is. :yeshrug:

Its why he’ll win this election. All about perception. Facts don’t matter to people
Perception is he is a rich successful business man, so he will be good on the economy. Its ignorant and untrue, but its the perception. Hey let the people get what they want if they vote for Trump. They finna find out.

who says this? he was the worse thing in basically every way

Its because in the Trump era, people were making $11 an hour, talking about "I'm balling" working 3 jobs just to get by.

People in the Biden era are making at least $24 per hour now, with the same job.

The president doesnt control the economy in a way that makes the question make sense, and the current president rarely is responsible for what impact we do see in the economy.
Yes the war in Gaza and Ukraine impacts the global economy more than what Trump or Biden did.
