Thread is jokes, but I wish we as a society had a better answer to the question, "What's the best thing to do with people who happen to have violent tendencies but possibly could get better?"

All our society cares about is punishment, not rehabilitation. So we've designed our prisons to punish and not rehabilitate. Prison isn't where you send someone to fix their problems, it's where you send someone to get them even more fukked up than they already were. As a result, the prison population just keeps growing, because sending somethere there don't fix anything, they just keep going back. And thus we have more people in prison than any other nation on Earth.

Yeah, this guy definitely has violent tendencies and lacks self-control. But if what breh said about the D.A.'s deal is true, then his history can't be that bad. So he definitely acted out in violence here, and he's acted out in violence other times before, but he's maintained enough control over it to stay out of trouble most of the time. If prison WERE a place where he could get help and fix what it wrong with him, then the judge's comment would be great. He needs something fixed for sure. But when we know prison ain't gonna do shyt to change him, what's the point?

absolutely

"every case is different" is the tagline lol

with probation you never want to violate with the same offense you originally committed or something similar.....it shows disrespect to the court and the entire process and it'll get you labeled a habitual offender and 9/10 they gonna bam you at that point 😭 aka going to prison

if you constantly stepping in front of judge on that habitual shyt it better be related to addiction like drugs or something a lawyer can finesse like sex/porn addiction and pedophilia all that shyts looked at like an illness meaning it can be "treated"...... versus a nikka out here stealing or scamming just trying to get money

Can you link me the source. My bad if I can't just take your word for it. Link me pedo case.

I can't....it's from August 2003....Broward county case....judge G if I'm not mistaken

I don't think you can look that up online most likely have to go to the main jail and request it and pay for the paperwork from the archives

I don't know what there is to doubt tho

when probation is violated it's either revoked or reinstated

if my "story" sounds like a complete fairytale then I'd wager you don't have much experience with the courts which is a good thing in the grand scheme
