The majority of people couldn't tell you who Juan Soto is or what he looks like. Hell a lot of people couldn't even tell you who Aaron Judge is and he's playing for their most popular team. Granted, that's an issue with how poor MLB is at marketing its superstars.

You think most people know who Nikola Jokic is? :usure:

You made it seem a negative towards MLB that the average person wouldn’t know who a particular MVP caliber player is, I responded with Nikola Jokic, a 2x back to back MVP.

Pretty sure the average person doesn’t know who that is either.

l literally just said that MLB does a poor job of marketing it’s stars. Again, that comment isn’t new as people have been saying that for years. You’re making more out of it than what it is meant to be.

The MLB doesnt market its players. It markets matchups and the league.

The TEAMS market their players to their fans and their market.

This is why “the man” on any mlb team is a big deal in that city. Julio Rodriguez is already getting griffey comparisons here and will be #1 athlete in seattle by September when the Seahawks suck. Any of the top players are marketed well in their markets. There is noeffort to make cross state border fans for baseball and really, other than the braves on TBS, and PANTHEON guys like bonds, mcgwire, jeter, there really has never been in our lifetimes.

No they wouldn't.
Not saying that Soto stands out as being recognized amongst the general public but I know for sure Jokic don't :heh:
Other than being tall af in which most people would ask him if he plays basketball

I actually think the MLB does market its players fairly decently. They do a lot of SM post of their stars, do a lot of coverage on their network of the main guys, micd up players during games etc but they're still behind the team marketing wise (which is how its sposed to be).

I think majority of these guys get lost when determining league marketing and how much the talking heads on ESPN yap about them.
