It'll be interesting to see if Trumpism outlives Trump. If it does, Hawley could very well win the nomination (if he receives establishment support).

I have a feeling that Trumpism is more a cult of personality than an actual fascist political movement though. Someone like Pence who can straddle the establishment and touch the Trumpist base has a much better shot. Guess we will see.

and this is definitely a topic worth discussing. kamala is, well :skip:  lets just say i wont put my life savings on her in 24

she can definitely win, but she has to take over the presidency by '23 and show she can run the country, and pick the right white dude from like ohio or pennsylvania as her VP. frankly just like obama did

i said it in the other thread but hawley/noem or whoever/noem might be tough for the dems

As a Dem I don't have problems with discussing candidates for 2024 however it's way too early to say anything for certain, such as Kamala not being able to win a national election or Hawley being a viable candidate. 2006 people were talking about how Hillary and Rudy were the runaway favorites to be the respective Presidential nominees and looked what happened two years later. Way too early to say anything for certain, especially with Biden not even being inaugurated for a month. Not to mentioned Trump looming over 2024 since if he's not in jail, there's a good shot he might run again, which would cut some of these candidates off at the knees (Hawley in particular since he has a history of mentally checking out of his term early to run for higher office).

It'll be interesting to see if Trumpism outlives Trump. If it does, Hawley could very well win the nomination (if he receives establishment support).

This. I'll give credit to Trump that his charisma is off the charts, which is a big problem for whoever follows him because they'll be compared to Trump and come up short.

i just cant see it, 4 years is an eternity. trump will be a shell of himself in '24. 78 years old, racked with debt and lawsuits, the onset of mental health issues. plus he's a fukkin p*ssy, he won't have the heart to risk another loss like this one. for all his talk, i just dont see him going through with running

but what WILL happen is that he picks the republican nominee, and he's gonna relish giving out that coveted endorsement. watching the GOP fight for it and grovel at his feet will be :mjlol:

As if Trump isn't already a shell of his former self

As if Trump isn't already completely incoherent and suffering from mental health issues

As if Trump isn't already racked with death and lawsuits

Age ain't and fitness ain't nothing anymore. We just saw a 78 year old get elected to his first term as president. And he barely beat a 74 year old with all of the aforementioned issues.

yeah, but trump is an anomaly in that he was an absolute sociopath who was humanly incapable of shame and lied like he breathed air. we'll never see any candidate ever like that again :dead:
I'm not 100% sure about this

DeSantis would get destroyed for his response to Covid alone. It's laughable to suggest he has a chance in 2024. :mjlol:
Trump literally got 71 million votes. There's plenty of the country dumb enough to vote for that paste eating moron Desantis. He's probably going to coast to relection here in Florida.

BernieBros being MAGA is the final evolution of the past 5 years. Not surprised one bit. If any politiican mentions "working class" and isn't a normal Democrat they are on them like flies on shyt.
I'm finding it difficult to understand how two people acknowledging Hawley's actions somehow means they are "supporting" him, or how that correlates to "BernieBros" supporting Hawley. There were vastly more people who jumped from Clinton to McCain than there were people that went from Sanders to Trump.

Is this how you do punditry? Just saying clearly erroneous things in an authoritative way? :gucci:

Hawley seems like such a pushover, the far left admire this guy a lot though, he might pull some votes from them, same with Tom Cotton.

I don't see the far right embracing them the way they did Trump
The "far Left" doesn't "admire" Hawley :dead:
Just saying absurd things with no substantiation or merit :deadmanny:

What is Trumpism?

I think it has to be acknowledged that Trump is a fairly regular Republican with bluster. His "cult of personality" is just him verbalizing AM talk radio every single day and engaging in regular celebritydom, and loser Republicans looking up to him. The US was Reganland in the 80s and it was the same slavish devotion from the GOP then too
