I done told y’all if it ain’t trump on the ballot that gop vote going to get split which means a Win for the Dem ticket..
How is Hawley's state doing any better? You act like the 2024 primary won't be highly contested. Any GOP nominee is going to hammer DeSantis (or Noem, an equally laughable nominee) on his covid response because they already know Covid will be the biggest issue for their base come January 20, 2021.
All Hawley has to do is attack DeSantis on his covid response (gets the moderates on his side) and something something "working class" (which will make the cosplay socialists wet AF) and he's got the nomination.
Who are the likely republican nominees that you think would be hammering others about Covid? That whole party and its base was complicit in denying Covid in the beginning, not mandating masks or shut downs, and those who didn't explicitly oppose measures surely didn't step to the forefront to champion science based responses to covid. You act like the 2024 primary won't be highly contested. this, it will be a badge of honor for a nominee to stand up there and point to how they kept their states/economies open
at thinking Republican primary voters care about Covid 19 responses, they would actually vote for the person who did the least

I don't think Covid will play into things for a base that doesn't give a shyt about it. Covid will hopefully be long gone by then and the GOP will forget it existed.

this isn't about the general...You say all that as if the GOP isn't full of unabashed hypocrites.
When they need to attack DeSantis on covid, they will, and they will go after him hard.
And imagine if someone like Cuomo or Newsom wins the Dem primary?

you can't answer the question because you know Covid response is not a sparkplug issue for that party - look at this year while we're in it, let alone 3 years from now.
LOL. There's nothing to say because all of their states' responses were bad. Florida isn't especially worse than Missouri or Arkansas or Texas breh. You say all that as if the GOP isn't full of unabashed hypocrites.

yeah i dont see desantis going anywhere nationally. hes a used car salesman
yeah, but trump is an anomaly in that he was an absolute sociopath who was humanly incapable of shame and lied like he breathed air. we'll never see any candidate ever like that againTrump is a used car salesman.
.

DeSantis would easily to pivot to his decisions keeping the state's economy afloat anyway.
this is all true. no one will give a fukk about covid in 22 or 24 because 70 percent of the deaths are people in nursing homes. thats why no one cares nowYou know why I don't count him out? Imagine a scenario in which covid basically goes away by 2022. By the time 2023 rolls around the ppl who will vote based on how politicians handled covid will probably never vote for him anyways. And I guarantee you that once covid is sort of in the rear view mirror there will be MANY, not just Republicans who will Monday morning quarterback the entire response. "Was it really necessary to shut down etc?" That is just how we roll as a nation. That will allow ppl like DeSantis to be able to say "I was just trying to save the economy blah blah blah." We reelected Bush in 2004 even though the entire country thought he was an idiot and knew he dragged us into an unnecessary war. Trump got within a CPL hundred thousand votes of reelection even with covid and everything else. DeSantis is one of the few guys out there that is palatable to the trump wing AND from a state that is a must win.
And whatever faux-populist is running in 2024 would point out that he did in a way that didn't keep working class families safe because his cases and deaths were so high and they got caught on multiple occasions lying and suppressing the true numbers.
When they need to attack DeSantis on covid, they will. To suggest otherwise is not be paying attention to how the GOP operates.
