Not only is this shyt performance art BUT IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN.

The wrestlers are performing, playing the part of competitors in a combat sport.

The audience is in on the performance, they are playing the role of an audience watching a real athletic contest.

Little kids think it’s real but for the rest of us it’s like a play or a movie, where we go in knowing it’s a performance but we let ourselves get taken by the suspension of disbelief.

What makes it different than a movie which is art, is the performance of it being done live. And just like in any art there are those that do it by the numbers and there are those that master the tools and techniques and give you some shyt that actually manipulates your emotions or makes you consider things in a different way.

Cornette is just trolling for attention and he’s living in a kayfabe world that doesnt exist anymore.
:yeshrug:

That's the thing, he isn't. His entire existence in the business over the past almost 20 years now has been exposing the business himself in heavy detail. He's survived on doing a constant stream of endless shoot interviews, now he does a podcast where he does the same thing, he'll go to any convention that will have him, on Twitter he's never in kayfabe and is always complaining about people breaking kayfabe while he talks about the inner details of everything.

He's a blatant troll doing anything to stay relevant except actually contribute to the business he supposedly loves. It's not like it's a coincidence he always lashes out against people making the most buzz online, hoping they'll fall for it and give him a boost by association. Jim Cornette is a leach. Jim Cornette is a troll. Jim Cornette is out of touch. Jim Cornette has been wrong about everything he's railed against in the past 15 years. Wrong about Kevin and Sami. Wrong about Joey Ryan. Wrong about the Bucks. Wrong about Kenny Omega. Wrong about Santino. Wrong about Ibushi. Wrong about Orange Cassidy.

In short, Jim Cornette is hypocritical, out of touch old troll who holds the current generation to a standard he himself doesn't live up to in the least and everyone should just ignore him until he goes away.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
One of my favorite Jim Cornette comeuppances was with Santino. For years he bragged about slapping him in OVW with glee and recounted and retold the story in numerous shoot interviews and podcasts and what happened when he finally ran into Santino?

He tried every way possible to run away. The man even got the :krs: face when he saw someone was filming it and tried to get out of the confrontation that way. All Santino did was hit em with the :sas1::sas2:. Cornette's face with literally turning fire truck red. He didn't expect to one day run into him again, but I'm glad that he did. :wow:

If you follow how this shyt started, this is pretty objectively Cornette and his stooge fans fault, even if you dont agree with her take on Wrestling

Kinda wack and I like Cornette but hes been doubling down on twitter being an a$$hole in the open when everyone can see hes at fault.
Feels like he might have dementia

I think it's both but you have a lot of people in the business who want to do either or, and that's what's killing the business.

It's part art because the moves/work have to look good, there is a certain aesthetic to be adhered to in terms of "good" pro wrestling, otherwise we wouldn't have the term "botches". You also need to be able to cut a promo, sell yourself to the crowd, and have a good gimmick. So yeah in a sense it's an artform. And it does require talent and skill.

It's part sport because these people are athletes competing against each other and themselves for the biggest reaction from the crowd and thus the biggest bag. So it is a sport in a sense.

The problem is when you have people who think they are bigger than the business. People who can work their ass off but don't know how to cut a promo. People who don't do what's necessary to actually be good in the ring. People who have not actually trained to be able to do the shyt but think that because they can talk shyt on a mic or play a character, that they deserve to be pro wrestlers. And just people in general who have not paid their dues, but think they should be elevated to the level of people who have bleed and sweat and shed tears for this shyt.

This is why I laugh at people who do the smug ass "wrestling is fake" shyt. You know how many people say that but have never seen the inside of a gym or even work out? I look at a person like that as fukking peon on the same level as someone who is like "Serena is not that good I can take her" or cats who say "LeBron ain't even that nice, let's see him play a pick up game at Dyckman or West 4th?"
