I have, what some would call a morbid interest in true crime, when I was about 14 I asked for a book for Christmas 'The Cases That Haunt Us', it is by an FBI profiler, John Douglas, who started profiling/behavioral science (in criminal investigations) back in the 1980's, the character from Silence Of The Lambs, the FBI agent, was based on him. So, I read it on Christmas Day, and I vividly remember the Jon Benet chapter,(have read many times since, well worn book on the shelf) the grotesque sense of irony not lost on the 14 year old me, as I read about her brutal murder and sexual assault....The book covers Jack The Ripper, Lizzie Borden, Zodiac, and what it does is from the behavioral clues, left by the suspect, analyzes who the killer likely is/was.....Douglas, wrote on the OJ Simpson murders too, but thats a different thread/topic.....Anyone interested enough, I'd say buy the book, and you will have your answer, the short version is that the parents were not guilty of anything, nor was the brother. You have to really delve into the ugliness and brutality of the crime, as well as the analysis of that brutality.....This is one of those cases that got mishandled by the investigators, and the media coverage, but a little background on behavioral profiling and the crime, and it's clear what happened....that doesn't mean we will ever know who it was, but you will know who it wasn't. That ransom note is a pretty important piece of evidence, in itself. Tells you a little about the offender...the most important thing is look at what actually happened to Jon Benet, awful as it is, and then go from there.

*Also, in MANY, possibly most, of domestic murders, of children, the parents or someone close to the family, are often the guilty party, this is not the case here.

When you use those profiling procedures, and behavioral science techniques, almost every crime is solvable to a degree.

And whatever you do, don't fall into CIA theories, or satanic rituals, or whatever bullshyt link that is....wow that is just frustratingly stupid.

You said all this and didn't tell us who did shyt:martin:.
More than likely it was one of their pedophile neighbors who snuck in,probably knew the Ramseys somewhat. Possibly someone who did some work on their home of some sort. People like this get a chance to monitor patterns, overhear peoples plans and schedules, see the exits and check entries, and leave enties open for themselves. One thing about the ransom note is whoever wrote it obviously knew the Ramseys, but were also making themselves out to be somebody they actually weren't.
Why would the parents write themselves a ransom note, then discover the body themselves in the house?unless maybe they expected police to leave and that they would have time to expose of the body before a stench would occur, but police stuck around non stop?so they had to resort to a plan B.

You also have to remember the movie Ransom with Mel Gibson which was very popular, I believe came out right before that irrc. Probably someone smart enough to write that ransom note, but still childish enough to make it so over the top it didn't sound authentic, and also young enough to be such a fan boy of the Ransom movie that they threw that in there just to make it seem similar and be close to the movie. I would have been looking for any young highschool/college aged white boys named Cody,Zachary,Phillip that reside in the area:martin:.

And?

DNA evidence that randomly came into mention when a new D.A. took over the case? No evidence of forced entry, no hired help was interviewed or known to be employed, etc..Boy, some of y'all are dense.
Forced entry was not needed, there was a way into the basement if you knew the layout of the house. Whoever did this was in the house before

Criminal Minds has an episode with many similarities to this case (season 4, episode 21 if anyone wants to check it out.)

Little boy goes missing, family goes on TV begging for the return of their son, body of the little boy is found in the woods, child rapist/murderer confesses to it, but it's proven he lied.

Autopsy came back showing his throat was stuffed with plane parts and blunt force head trama. Turns out it was the older brother who did it because he got mad at his brother for messing up the toy plane he was building. Parents didn't want to lose another son so they called their cop friend to help stage a home invasion, hit the boy's head twice, and put the body in the woods. The brother was a sociopath, didn't feel any remorse.

While I understand why they sealed Burke's medical records, it always seemed suspect to me. He was smearing feces on his sister's stuff and a year earlier had "accidentally" hit her with a golf club, seems like something to look into. But money talks.

This investigator Lou Smit shows you how easy it was to get into and out of the house

Whoever killed this girl was in the house before and probably had ties to the pedo pageants

That motherfukker doesn’t know what he’s talking about :mjlol:
