He was being painted as a woman beater which the evidence proved wasn’t the case. If he copped to anything at the beginning, he was finished.

I think they played it as best as they could given the climate. The serious charges were found not guilty and the video evidence that came out showed it was nothing like how the DA and police wanted it to be. One of the charges he’s guilty of is not even criminal; it’s a violation.

A messy public trial for a guy who is so concerned about his reputation is never a good look, that's my position on the case. You plead to the lesser, and no one will ever know what really happened, and there's no breaking news CONVICTED, when it's a quiet and quick plea hearing. Then he can control the narrative from there. He got a mixed verdict and exposed what seems like me an abusive and controlling personality. The industry won't like that.

The idea that he slapped or smacked this woman around a few times doesn't seem far fetched to me. But, that's not even here or there, it's just about the strategy and media perspective.
