Putting the belt on him wasn't the problem, having no buildup and putting on a generic 10min match was the problem.

What match did you watch? shyt was anything but generic and definitely not 10 minutes.

And the reason there wasn’t any buildup is because JG had been feuding with moriarty for a while but you can’t book that as a PPV main event so they had to finish that first then pivot to Claudio in time for the ppv.

I see it 2 ways…the booking of Gresham has been very lacking and it’s problematic that the ROH world champion barely gets featured on TV (Granted it’s a AEW program but this was something i was concerned about from the jump after Tony purchased ROH.)

On the other side, Gresham aint someone I would make the world champion of my wrestling company. As a black wrestling fan, I support my people and root for them to succeed because we know how the wrestling business can be at times for us.

But I’m just not a fan of Gresham. He’s a great in ring worker and technician but his size is too distracting….maybe if he was taller he would be takin more seriously.

Putting him with Tully just for the angle to fall apart prematurely did him no favors. If you’re gonna have Gresham dropped the title to Claudio…atleast show the man some type of respect instead of booking him to lose in 10 min on the opening of the PPV.

Like on one side, TK is a bytch for not communicating with Gresham and making him feel valued, but at the same time Gresham is just too damn short to be world champion and he isn’t even that crazy good in the ring to get over with the crowd


Also it’s sorta telling how TK has had issues with two black wrestlers now


If they don’t push Dante Martin and Lee Moriarty soon like they’ve pushed Yuta and Garcia

I liked him for longer than most people even knew he existed. His BOSJ run was absolutely more impressive than Yuta's.

You can tell Tony has no respect for him by bookinh him with a guy way taller than him. Him dropping the title vs Bryan would be way less embarassingt to him and exposing that hes's short. But Tony doesn give a fukk.

1. Bryan Danielson is AEW not ROH. Claudio was signed specifically for ROH

2. BD is still injured

3. He's already been ROH champ and is WELL ABOVE that title at this point in his career.

And if anything the height difference to me in this match made it clear just how great JG is in the ring from a technical standpoint. It's not like he was booked like Mysterio was as world champ. He had a really good competitive match and didn't look unbelievable in how he did it.

If you work your fukking ass off to become a great worker and work your ass off to maintain a great physique but are still judged harshly because of your height, what the hell do you think is going to develop in the mind of a HUMAN? Dude is a human too and he sees that no matter what he does or how good he is, he still won't get a fair shake, and that fukking sucks. That is on top of being Black in this industry too.
