tully got canned?

Anyways back to gresham

Per fightful:

• he felt disrespected due to lack of communication from the company leading up to this weekend
• lack of time for the match also lead to feeling disrespected
• asked for release before the match
• met with Tony before the show and voiced his frustration and it escalated to him cussing Tony out
• Gresham is done with wrestling for the foreseeable future after this month
• came out without his usual attire to show people the real him for what could be his last match
• no statement from ROH/Tony

isn't he gonna be managed by Malcolm Bivens soon? That's a step in the right direction. Hopefully they can ditch some of the nerdy aspects of his presentation too while they're at it. There's no reason a guy like that shouldn't be able to get as much of a push as the equally bland Wheeler Yuta

Breh the proof is in the pudding with whats really real. We seen the shyt ourselves with the Big Swole thread, but lol. The constant obvious examples throughout the year with black wrestlers being booked, but lol. Now with Jon who yeah doesn't have the height but good fukking grief OC gets a pass and friggin Cesaro the Swiss melatonin goes over. That right there is the fukking problem, and quite frankly I am not surprised by some of the replies backing the booking decision up.

:lupe: Almost as if there's no trust in a black man leading a damn near dead promotion into a revival state. They could easily have them put on a clinic with Jon barely going over but lol. The bottom line is that Tony Khan sees green and white, over black and green. IDGAF about the juelzing and "gotchas", the shyt is right there and its blatant.

Like I said Lee Moriarty is right there. If he doesn't get a prominent role or a great run with the belt that doesn't seem like a sympathy award we're gonna revisit this thread.

The post match scene at supercard of honor slotted Lee as the future of ROH, and Gresham’s turn was against Lee so it’s clear plans are there for him.

I could've sworn they were pushing Lee Moriarty for the Wheeler Yuta role in blackpool fight club. However for some reason they had a change of plans and gave it to Yuta. I don't think Yuta is that good and is interchangeable

That is def true. White dudes can become fan favorites based on in-ring skill even if they are dull as fukk with the personality of a piece of drift wood.
A black wrestler without a personality is shyt on and his in-ring talent ignored because he is boring.
But Gresham's issue is being seen as having zero personality while also being the size of a 6th grader.

Shelton Benjamin gained fan reaction and support solely from in ring work, he was seen as someone that should’ve been right there with Cena and Orton at the time. It’s on Gresham to be spectacular enough in the ring to resonate.

Yuta got over with the crowd(🙄) and is still hot...but will fizzle out eventually because there's essentially nothing special about him. He's not even THAT great in the ring.

Yuta got over the same way Britt Baker got over, by getting bloodied up in a losing effort, now while Yuta is a million times better than Britt in the ring, Yuta has a certain ceiling, he’s not a star or megastar imo.

Just finished that match........Putting the belt on Claudio was clearly the right choice from a marketing/pr standpoint but TK is a fukking idiot if he doesn't lock up Jonathan Gresham and I didn't even really like dude AT ALL coming into this. But he's a fukking beast even at 4'11 or whatever the fukk.

You can tell Tony has no respect for him by bookinh him with a guy way taller than him. Him dropping the title vs Bryan would be way less embarassingt to him and exposing that hes's short. But Tony doesn give a fukk.

I don't think Tessa learned her ways from some random stranger, so him being gone is:yeshrug:to me.

Putting the belt on him wasn't the problem, having no buildup and putting on a generic 10min match was the problem.
