The Jon Moxley podcast tour continues and he’s continuing to be straight up with how he feels about his former employer. While talking to Pro Wrestling Torch, Ambrose discussed his issues with Vince McMahon. He says that while he used to be a genius, he’s out of touch.

“In the 80s he was a genius,” said the former Dean Ambrose. “When he created ‘Hulkamania,’ and took over all the territories, and foresaw cable television and all that. He was a genius. In 2019, I don’t think he knows what the f— is going on.”

Moxley went on to say that Vince needs to step aside and let someone else do it if he can’t figure things out. The logical replacement is Triple H, who is being groomed for the role. “When Vince isn’t there, [Hunter] the guy you defer to. He’s got good ideas. His ideas are his ideas, but, he’s a lot more cerebral. He’s not a super open collaborative. … I think he would be more open to giving people more freedom, but he’s smart and he sees things his way. So, if he sees you doing something and he envisions a better way, and a lot of times you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s even cooler.'”

Problem with his Cripple H thoughts is that Cripple Cant handle business part like Vince..these TV deals..streaming..all of that? McMahon made that happen. I'm sure Cripple H can handle the stories and talent..well with the easy money he has at his disposal but the business part? Nah..I dont buy that.

All these dudes arguing against no scripts are acting like some brainwashed robots presenting issues like they don't even remember there was a time when it was the norm

"BUT WHAT IF THEY START SHOOTING :lupe:"
"WHAT IF THEY SAY SOMETHING BAD :lupe:"

Like these dudes aren't professionals and are just gonna go out and ruin their jobs to go off script or drop f-bombs. Or WWE can't tell people that certain shyt is still off limits.

Or "some of these guys can't talk well, don't put them out there with no script!" So...play to their strengths and work around the weaknesses. Give them a no-nonsense, silent gimmick. Give them a manager. Put them in a stable. Put them in a tag team with a good talker who can carry the heavy lifting on promos (and hell, maybe they'll get more comfortable and improve their mic skills being around them. We've seen it happen in the past). There's easy to shyt to be done but WWE wants to fit everybody into the same box and never wants to work around people's strengths and weaknesses.
we're all people on a message board and it's not our money or company. All it takes is one idiot to have you going "yeah we scripting shyt now, and only a select few can have the greenlight because i'm not gonna be sitting here juelzing because some jobber insulted some minority group". This aint 1998. This is the era where dudes are getting #Metoo'd and all kinds of shyt and this is just a different climate if your any type of mainstream product. WWE is as close to mainstream as you can get in wrestling. But yeah lets let and bunch magas like Lacey Evans and Lars jump on a mic and come up with their own shyt.

Again sorry for looking at things beyond just competing with other wrestling companies. It's fukked up that things have to be heavily scripted but I guess i'm the only person looking at WHY. :mjlol:

Hot take:

I don't buy HHH as the savior people making him out to be.
To be one, all he really needs to be is a semi competent booker who doesn’t try to overtly sabotage the whole show. The bar is pretty low. Booking a good pro wrestling show isn’t that hard. It’s just that Vince doesn’t want to.

nikka, guys didn't have scripts even in the super family friendly PG era of the 80s-mid 90s. You ate throwing out hypotheticals that can already be accounted for. All of the pieces of shyt that made up 80s wrestling didn't have a problem not crossing the line, and any wild shyt had Vince's approval. You keep making up problems that don't exist

There's theoretically nothing stopping these dudes from going into business for themselves anyway. They got a live mic. But they know if they go off script period their in some shyt. Same thing if they cross certain lines.

Lars Sullivan says some MAGA shyt that draws controversy and Vince is throwing dude in the bushes

Like that other guy said, Live sports got way more at stake and give live mics to way less predictable and articulate athletes oftentimes at emotional peaks when they're most likely to say some crazy shyt.

Cosign all this.

There's an incident nearly every month where live mics pick up someone saying some wild shyt live. The internet has a field day clowning that person, unless they said something offensive. Then they get clowned, AND shamed. Said person either apologizes, or issues one of those fake apologies that no one believes, and the league/network moves on, because the heat is solely on that person.

If it's established that someone going full dumbass on TV wasn't scripted, the company is good.

But it likely wouldn't be a major issue, because these wrestlers now aren't trying to fukk their money up. No one's about to hop on live TV and torch their career.

All this shyt ignores that nothing is stopping anyone from going off script no matter how heavily scripted the promos are. If someone wants to ad lib or say some real shyt, they can if they're willing to risk it. The existence of a script doesn't magically stop people from going off it.

What kinda take is this? Enzo just got done saying they tell people to stay on script if they like their job they will do what they're told.

Its a risk. There's always a chance you go off script, say some real shyt and it either catches fire or Vince ends up liking it.
