nikkas acting like kids weren't watching the Attitude era anyway :mjlol:

I was seven years old at the height of Russo's Attitude fukkeryi and every kid in my school was watching that shyt. Hell I first found out about it by my dad assuming I watched it. He didn't keep up with wrestling but he liked The Rock and Stone Cold :mjlol:

First it’s scripted promos shouldn’t be touched, now it’s concern for kids viewing experience. The low key stooging is something. :pachaha:

All these dudes arguing against no scripts are acting like some brainwashed robots presenting issues like they don't even remember there was a time when it was the norm

"BUT WHAT IF THEY START SHOOTING :lupe:"
"WHAT IF THEY SAY SOMETHING BAD :lupe:"

Like these dudes aren't professionals and are just gonna go out and ruin their jobs to go off script or drop f-bombs. Or WWE can't tell people that certain shyt is still off limits.

Or "some of these guys can't talk well, don't put them out there with no script!" So...play to their strengths and work around the weaknesses. Give them a no-nonsense, silent gimmick. Give them a manager. Put them in a stable. Put them in a tag team with a good talker who can carry the heavy lifting on promos (and hell, maybe they'll get more comfortable and improve their mic skills being around them. We've seen it happen in the past). There's easy to shyt to be done but WWE wants to fit everybody into the same box and never wants to work around people's strengths and weaknesses.

Sorry brehs call me crazy but I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for a dude who made millions and was one of the few grand slam champs ever

Dude was WWE World champ and if I'm not mistaken was the last one to be champ when there was only 1 belt

Not saying he had absolutely no point but he made more in WWE than 99% of people will make in a lifetime AND got to live out his dream AND got to be world champ while people like Jake and Dibiase didn't even get a single IC title reign

Wish him well in his future endeavors tho :sas2:

It's not really about feeling sorry for anyone. Dude just spoke his truth and made a decision he thought was best for him, and in the process confirmed what most already assumed about creative. And even though he got paid and was at the top of the card, all indications suggest that lots of others on the roster who aren't as fortunate felt like he shined light on their experiences also.

So maybe it'll either put fire to the company to mix things up, or empower others who haven't gotten that shot yet to bet on themselves in their own way.

didn't really get a bitter vibe from the Moxley/Ambrose podcast like the CM Punk podcast was.

if anything Moxley thanked the company and just spoke about his personal struggles with creative and Vince.

Exactly lol cats ain't gonna go out there and risk it all in the chance of them being fired on the spot and/or blackballed. These cats ain't dumb, obviously you have to give them parameters and the gist of what kind of story you want to tell. You don't need to be heavily scripted to know not to say a curse word lol on a product thats damn near or may as well be marketed to children. WWE will work around the strengths and weaknesses of those who they want to succeed, and even they fukk up those. But everyone else, take shyt and like it.

The Jon Moxley podcast tour continues and he’s continuing to be straight up with how he feels about his former employer. While talking to Pro Wrestling Torch, Ambrose discussed his issues with Vince McMahon. He says that while he used to be a genius, he’s out of touch.

“In the 80s he was a genius,” said the former Dean Ambrose. “When he created ‘Hulkamania,’ and took over all the territories, and foresaw cable television and all that. He was a genius. In 2019, I don’t think he knows what the f— is going on.”

Moxley went on to say that Vince needs to step aside and let someone else do it if he can’t figure things out. The logical replacement is Triple H, who is being groomed for the role. “When Vince isn’t there, [Hunter] the guy you defer to. He’s got good ideas. His ideas are his ideas, but, he’s a lot more cerebral. He’s not a super open collaborative. … I think he would be more open to giving people more freedom, but he’s smart and he sees things his way. So, if he sees you doing something and he envisions a better way, and a lot of times you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s even cooler.'”

Brehs are in here killing me with these scared ass made up problems about someone going off script and going crazy :pachaha:

1. Bigger sports themed products with longer pockets and more to lose broadcast live, impromptu interviews all the time. These interviews involve athletes dealing with real-life career-defining stakes that are playing out in real-time when all of a sudden a mic is shoved into their face. And unlike sports entertainment performers, this isn't part of their job aside from some media training, and they do fine for the most part.

2. Unlike those sports products, which air during the daytime on broadcast stations like ABC and NBC, WWE airs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on cable, where you're literally allowed to say "fukk" now. Not saying they will or should, but they have a legit adult timeslot.

3. Script or no script, if someone has it in their heart to do some dumb shyt there's really nothing you can do. You can make the consequences of doing the fool known ahead of time without overscripting them. But either way, a live mic is a live mic, so why not try to make it good by letting them express some authenticity?

4. That's what the 8-second delay is for. Why are we acting like what we watch is literally happening instantaneously.

If one dummy goes crazy then you make an example out of them, but the only way for this to never be a possibility is to just not do live TV. I really don't think the reason they're scripted in this way is that they're afraid someone is just gonna start taking liberties and cussing out their opponents brehs

You can't do shyt like it used to be in 2019, with $100 million dollar TV contracts and sponsors and shyt. It's just a different world.

As far as the scripts go don't you think it would be better if they got a script on let's say.. Friday, to give them 3 days to prepare for RAW? Just as an example. Part of the reason the shyt sounds so hectic from what Ambrose said is cuz the shyt is literally happening in a span of like 2 hours on one day because it gets re-written 20 times. So you give a script of stupid shyt from the brain of a 70-year-old cokehead to someone who has to try to make sense of it within the next hour and perform it on TV. No actor in the world has to be under those kind of conditions, you get a script weeks/months in advance to prepare.

You just have to pick a direction and go with it.

LU managed to script almost everything and, for a few seasons at least, came out way more engaging than most WWE efforts.

WWE is stuck in a bizarre chasm between Vince wanting to micro-manage every last word and rosy-eyed memories of wrestlers who "grabbed the brass ring" that they keep reminding everyone of... the two things just aren't compatible. He wants to script everything, but have the audience believe it's all improvised by the wrestlers. They make an environment where a Stone Cold could never happen again and wonder why they've never had another Stone Cold.

Yeah but when Sasha made a power move, nyggas around was c00ning and tapdancing for standing up for herself. Then have the nerve to be marking out for Jojo and her fat girl bred babies with some hick cat..lol. Absurd.
