Not a bad choice, but I'd rather they cast a bit younger (40ish) than older.

They'll go with a younger Batman, no matter what. My money's on Gyllenhaal.
Let's say the second coming of the DC universe is great, they don't want a batman that'll be in his mid fifties by the end of his run, no it's better to go with someone in their early to mid 30's that can play batman for 5-10 movies in the next dceu incarnation.

What's wrong with Kit Harrington? He already has a following and would be age appropriate instead of having a middle-aged struggle Batman
Far too short for one, the guy's like 5"7. Second it depends on what sort of batman they're going for. A detective batman? probably not, but something similar to TDK plausibly, he can certainly bring the physicality to the role as seen by his swordsmanship in GOT.

Doing an older Batman in a cinematic universe was never practical. Expecting 50+ year old actors to stay in peak physical condition and wanna do that to themselves for 3+ movies is a bit much. Seem like a taxing role. And Batfleck only been doing it for about 3-4 years? Don't even wanna stay for a standalone Batman film which is basically walking away from a lot of money. They just made a Lego Batman film and that made bank for Christ sake.

What other option that they have replace an older Batman anyways? Colin Farrel?

Colin Farrell is even too old he's currently 41. Really, aren't a lot of young brunette actors out there doing it big right now.
