It doesnt matter

91 Magic led the lakers to 58 wins putting up 19-13-7 50% from 2 90% from the line. To bad MJ did what he did

93 Jordan put up 33,7,6 3 steals and shot 50% from the field and finished 3rd. Bulls won 55 games basically coasting in the regular season.

2014 lebron shot 57% 38% from 3 put up 27-7-7 and did not win. Bron led them to 54 wins while wade missed 25+ games.

Joker isnt leading denver to 55+ wins. This is nonsense. He shouldnt of won b2b let alone 3 straight. You have to protect the integrity of the game. Protect history. We need historical gatekeepers to say :whoa: this man aint winning mvp regardless of what he does because better players did not win while being better than him. Dont get me wrong i like joker. Hes great really great

Jokic needs more help. That Nuggets roster is trash. He’s literally been dragging trash behind him every year to the playoffs while winning awards doing it. MPJ is making 30 million and his byke broken. Jamal Murray overachieved in the bubble. Aaron Gordon is the definition of mid. And the worst part is the defense is horrendous. They put up points but they can’t stop nobody.

He's a cheat code. It's a shame they saddled him with that awful MPJ contract and Murray looks like a shell of himself.

He's gonna be wasting his prime seasons with almost no shot to win it all because of their terrible salary situation. MPJ and Murray are untradable.

Their defense got worse and yet last year they were starting Monte Morris and Will Barton.

I don’t get it.

One has zero to do with the other.

That's what makes NBA MVP voting so ridiculous at times.

You know what you sound like? Those baseball hall of fame voters who won't give someone a unanimous vote because Babe Ruth didn't get that.

The MVP is about what happens during the regular season, and not meeting some arbitrary requirement of reaching a certain stage in the playoffs.

Beyond that though, it's silly to look for reasons why a player doesn't deserve it all because you don't think they meet this [playoff] standard. Their performance should be appreciated exactly as it is, and if it's deserving of winning MVP then there's no reason why anyone should look for reasons for why they're not. There seems to be this agenda on this board to downplay what he's done over the last few seasons, rather than acknowledging we're witnessing one of the best big men to ever do it.

Folks get far too caught up in these narratives of what are essentially meaningless awards. Folks care more about the storylines around the sport than they care about the sport, itself.

You're not the MVP if you keep getting bounced in the playoffs. He's not even going the distance into the Conference Finals. He looks like a complete non-factor in the playoffs. Where are his 50 point games like Giannis? Where are his signature moments where he looks like the best player on the planet? He's good but, he's overrated. Imagine if we gave the MVP to Anthony Davis every year while Bron and Steph were winning. It's dumb.
