If Murray and Porter are available in April/May, yes. The problem is they tend not to be.Then we definitely should have very high postseason expectations for him then

As long as they continue to be a bottom 5 defense, they aren't going anywhere in the postseason. Then we definitely should have very high postseason expectations for him then
It doesnt matter
Their defense got worse and yet last year they were starting Monte Morris and Will Barton. He's a cheat code. It's a shame they saddled him with that awful MPJ contract and Murray looks like a shell of himself.
He's gonna be wasting his prime seasons with almost no shot to win it all because of their terrible salary situation. MPJ and Murray are untradable.
One has zero to do with the other. We need historical gatekeepers to say this man aint winning mvp regardless of what he does because better players did not win while being better than him. Dont get me wrong i like joker. Hes great really great
The MVP is about what happens during the regular season, and not meeting some arbitrary requirement of reaching a certain stage in the playoffs.
Beyond that though, it's silly to look for reasons why a player doesn't deserve it all because you don't think they meet this [playoff] standard. Their performance should be appreciated exactly as it is, and if it's deserving of winning MVP then there's no reason why anyone should look for reasons for why they're not. There seems to be this agenda on this board to downplay what he's done over the last few seasons, rather than acknowledging we're witnessing one of the best big men to ever do it.
Folks get far too caught up in these narratives of what are essentially meaningless awards. Folks care more about the storylines around the sport than they care about the sport, itself.
You're not the MVP if you keep getting bounced in the playoffs. He's not even going the distance into the Conference Finals. He looks like a complete non-factor in the playoffs. Where are his 50 point games like Giannis? Where are his signature moments where he looks like the best player on the planet? He's good but, he's overrated. Imagine if we gave the MVP to Anthony Davis every year while Bron and Steph were winning. It's dumb.
