Even if it wasn't shyt it still wouldn't have made as much as the first.
2019 was the peak of the box office. Look how many movies made over a billion that year. That probably won't ever happen again.

That bad huh. Word of mouth is terrible for this flick. Might be the worse word of mouth for any highly anticipated flick in many years.
It’s just like a waste of time. The musical scenes are just forced in with lyrics to no narrative payoff at all. Then the story, when you take the musical cut scenes out, is stale. And the ending sucks

Ok so I got back from the theaters from watching Joker 2 and I gotta say I didn't hate it. I liked it but I didn't love it like I loved the first movie. Let me put my entire feeings about the movie and tons of spoilers down below:

So to reiterate I thought the movie was…. Fine. It wasn’t as awesome and great as the first movie but it was far from the bad that most people think it is. It was enough entertaining parts of the movie to make it an average watchable movie that will air randomly on TNT and TBS. I will fully admit that this sequel definitely didn’t need to happen, the Joker films is just like the 13 Reasons Why seasons where Season 1 was awesome and SHOULD have been a stand alone season but unnecessary seasons were made after that ruining the mystique of the original premise.

* Both Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga did act their asses off in this film and tried their best to create gold with what they were given but it wasn’t enough. It didn’t feel like too much of a story really, just the trial, some jail stuff and the Joker/Harley relationship.

* Even though this was supposed to be a “musical” it didn’t feel like that to me. There were a lot of songs sung but there was too much talking in between each song to make it not feel like a musical but just a movie with a lot of songs if that makes any kind of sense.

*It was cool seeing “Harvey Dent vs Joker” in the courtroom, I didn’t think we would see “Two-Face” in this film but they did find a way to fukk his face up. I’m surprised I didn’t see Dr. Jonathan Crane make an appearance for even another easter egg of some sorts.

*The musical moments I thought were well done and I do like the song choices for the characters, this is where both Joaquin and Gaga shined the most and their biggest highlights.

*In my opinion one of the biggest flaws of this film was the lack of backstory of Harley Quinn. Her character desperately needed more fleshing out of her character because I truly didn’t understand her motives other than her being a thot bop for the “Joker” but not giving a shyt about Arthur Fleck. Her telling too many lies just had her all over the place to me.

*Another of the biggest flaws was that they really didn’t let Joker let loose like he should have and act a fukking fool. We saw brief glimpses of it during the trial but we didn’t get the big Joker crashout like I think myself and most people were expecting. Instead they just had Joker breaking down like the main dude from Baby Reindeer during his comedy set.

*The trial testimony of Zazie Beats was jokes when she was talking about how Joker’s mother would constantly tell her stories about how she thought Arthur wasn’t shyt, was unfunny and delusional and would always be a virgin…. Arthur made the right choice of smothering her to death with the pillow.

*Dem prison guards were the biggest villains in this film, what was up with them wanting Arthur to do gay shyt all the time? I understand it's a prison but goddamn that was weird to see. Using kisses for currency to get cigarettes is some non-Harlem type shyt. At least Arthur got to slam ass with Harley in the prison so I guess it wasn’t all bad…. but it was mostly bad.

*Going back to Harley and Joker’s relationship and more specifically her sudden betrayal it felt like a man getting beat up in front of his girlfriend and the girlfriend immediately breaks up with the beaten boyfriend because she now sees him as a weak fool… that’s how that ending felt like to me. Arthur chose to do away with the “Joker” persona so he could be a family man with his woman and child only for Harley to turn her back on him because she only loved the image of "Joker" but not the man himself…. In hindsight I can kinda see now why a lot of people were labeling the first Joker movie as a “incel” movie.

*The movie ending was kinda random to me. I know the theory a lot of people like to run with from the first movie is that Arthur Fleck is the first “Joker” and his actions will create multiple people to become “Jokers” in the future for Bruce Wayne to fight against when he becomes Batman. That being said, Arthur getting randomly stabbed to death by another crazy inmate that showed signs of him becoming the next “Joker” felt forced and it just made the life of the character of Arthur Fleck just one long tragic sad joke from beginning to end with little to no happiness... maybe that was the whole point.

*Overall I did enjoy myself watching this movie, I give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars. That being said Hollywood I need you to PLEASE STOP MAKING UNNECESSARY SEQUELS TO MOVIES THAT DON’T NEED THEM BECAUSE THAT’S HOW YOU RUIN LEGACIES OF ICONIC FILMS AND CHARACTERS! I honestly recommend everyone to just wait until this film hits Netflix or basic cable for watching. Until then I’ll just settle watching the first movie again a dozen more times…
