They can do that shyt all they want. More people will get infected and die, the stock market will continue to record record losses and drops, the hospitals will become completely overwhelmed by other stuff leading to the deaths of other people who have other serious injuries not CV related cause they're resources are exhausted, and then these businesses and states will have to lock it down again leading to a worse fate than before.

But these conversations show me that Americans are too used to having it good and don't completely understand the weight of this tragedy. Even if you watched President Trump's self-serving press briefings you would have no idea that 42,000 Americans have died in the past 6 weeks cause of it. I think the general consensus of Americans during this time is a selfish "who cares?" type thought process. As in they don't care about how severe it is or how many people die from it just as long as they can live the same way they did before this happened and go "back to normal"....but god forbid one of their friends, family members, or themselves get it...then it's just tears and "thoughts and prayers".

You can't be serious. Do you know how much hospitals are bleeding cash right now? Hospitals make most of their money from elective procedures/surgeries. All elective procedures for all hospitals have been cancelled until the COVID19 thing slows down to make sure they have enough resources to treat COVID patients. So now they've stopped their biggest source of making money. They're having to pay high-price markup for equipment for their staff (masks and gloves that were probably fifty cents/piece 3 months ago that are now $5/piece, testing kits, etc.). They're having to pay to rent out bigger spaces as they run out of room in their buildings, having to buy more ICU beds, ventilators. They have to pay overtime for all these doctors and nurses working around the clock.

No 20% bump in payment for covid services is going to be enough to make up for all those other expenses and loss of revenue.

More fear and stripping away of rights for starters, the country is basically on house arrest already over this overhyped pandemic.

If the idea is money over everything why would you want to strip away rights? Isn't it better for people to freely go to work and sped money? How do you make more money from people on house arrest?

I've said it before, I'll say it again. The only two consistent elements with the Trump Administration have been: people dying and stocks crashing.

He is a failure of a President and the way he dismantled the pandemic response team, ignored warnings leading all the way back to November of 2019, and essentially made this problem worse is unforgiveable.

Now he's moved the goal posts from "it will all be gone by april" to "if less than 200,000 people die from this in America we've succeeded"...as if you can slam dunk a W off a pile of dead bodies.

Trump and his Republicans are expediting the process to take America to fascism and martial law...not the Dems. They're also robbing the American public blind during this pandemic from the stimulus checks that are supposed to be coming to people and attaching weird stipulations to make sure certain people don't get them, to Jared Kushner and company operating the federal surplus stockpile and making shady deals where they can profit from which essential turns the emergency response wing of government into an arm of big business.

how ethical is it to basically sell medical supplies to the highest bidder during a pandemic like ventilators and PPE? or to have FEMA buy up all of the states medical supplies and basically force the states to buy them back from them at an inflated cost? Or just not sending medical supplies to states at all unless they kiss Trump's ass? Cause that's what's happening....

The reason why people are dying like they are is because folks aren’t as healthy as they think they are.

I’ve been saying this since this outbreak started here: Eat to live, get in shape..at least you know you’re actively bulking up your body’s defenses by doing this. Folks walking around with a diseased heart and high blood pressure, haven’t had a physical in years because they don’t “feel bad” not knowing they’re already working quickly towards a horrible expiration .. then they catch this virus that exploits those adverse conditions quickly and kills you off with little fanfare.

Yes you right about this, but people with diabetes as well. The younger people who died usually have asthma and it not something that can be cured.
